He has offered hlmself for WIec￿On as a trustee every three years. He has also off8r8d himself for re-appointment as secretary every year at the amual general meeting IAGM). The board has been aware that re-appointmenls of more than g years require a parti(￿[allY rigorous review and should consider the need for progresslve refreshing of the board. Artlstlc Vlslon Summary The festival has established a reputation which goes far bèyond its seiting in the rural North Yorkshire Dales. That reputation is built on a wsion of first-dass, exciting fflustc and arts which inspire and challenge artists and audienc&s allke and whlch both celebrate and transcend the setting. The company re-affirms Ihat vision and has fijrther developed the festival through a vigorous programme of ￿)MmUnty and educational a¢tivily. Profe88lonals Artistic dlrector Malcolm Creese *epped down as artistic direclor at the end of this year's festlval. He look the festtval from strength to strength over seventeen years and we are grateful for his significant conlribulion to tts success and growth. Prior to leaving. he provided the festival team with a detailed programme for 2025. In doing so, he has facilltated a smooth transition for his successor. During the late summer and autumn months a search process was undertaken to Identify a fitting successor in the role. Applications were received from over 100 candidates. enabling a very impressive short lisl to be put together. Following a rigorous selects'on process. the trustees appointed Fraser Wilson as artistic direcior. Pianist. organisc composer. arranger and conductor, he joins us from Britten Pears Arts where he was head of perfomance and public engagement for the wortd-renownei1 Adeburgh Festival and ts year-round programme of music. He assum8d his role v￿th Swaledale Festival in November 2024. We are exated that th8 experience and skills he brings Varyll enable the festival to (a￿tinue going from strength to strength. Staff We have three loyal part-time members of lh8 admlnlstrative team. two of whom primarity maintain and develop our marketing and publicity, and our education and community acliwties. The third member of staff is the féstlval administrator. Leading up to and during the period of Ihe festival, we use the service of an events leam of three for production support and artistic liaison. Volunteers and Frfends The festival now has around 75 acttve volunteers who assist mainly during the festival lortnight. They host and transport artlsts. dlstrlbule and replenish publldty. steward al events. and lead walks. Most of Ihe volunteers supporl several events or activities. Offlce The company oc(¥pies an office in Hudson House. Reeth (a Community building) under an annual licence. Dlverslty During the periods of lockdown, Ihe I￿1varS second diversty audit was produced. This set out the elhnicity and dlversity of the visiling artists and composers who were commissioned in 2022. In compiling the audil, much was leamt about the development of programmes. Thls will facilitale improved diversity in the luture.

There is increased focu6 on MUlt￿USe marketing malerials which can be used year on year. The implementation of a doud document storage solution has proved successful and will help in working towards a paperless office in the future. The trustee appointrnent made in 2023 carries specthc responsibilty for sustainability. At ts NtNembw 2023 bDard meeting the trustees formalised their commitment in this respect by adopting an environment pollcy.
