Beauchlef Pre-school Trustee5' annual report Forthe year ended 31 August 2021 Structure, governance and management The Charity is operated under the rules of its constitution dated 2610511993 and most recently amended 1810311998. Overall management of the charity is the responsibility of the trustees who are elected and co-opted under the terms of the constitution. Day to day projert activity is managed and carried out by volunteers and paid staff. Objectives and activities The principal objects of the charity are: To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups. Activitie5 durlng the financial year Due to the continuing restrictions of Covid 19 our events were scaled back again this year. The pre-school has continued to work with 16 families providing early years education over the wide-ranging EYFS curriculum for the children and additional support where necessarythrough outside agencies giving support for Speech and Lan8uage and Autism teams. The Pre-school team and committee have worked together to ensure that restrictions from national covid guidelines have not limited the children's learning by adapting working practices such as a virtual Youtube guide for parents not able to look round in person and adaptions on drop off and pick up procedure5 to ensure our families are kept safe. The restrittions meant that instead of our usual fundraising fairs we worked on non face to face fundraising such as raffles and sponsored events that the children carried out during the normal pre-school session time. Reserves Policv Beauchief Pre-school aims to maintain a reserve of at least £11,250 to cover the Pre-school in the event of closure and the costs that would arise as a result of this, such as redundancies. There is currently £31,525 held in total unrestricted reserves12020'. £34.3691. Of this amount. £11,263 (reserves costs} are held in a deposit account to cover the costs that would arise in the event of the closure of the charity and £3.249 relates to council funding for the Autumn term which was received just before the year end.
