The promotion of the care, welfare and relief of people with autism and people having autistic or related features
The trustees have had due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on the subject of public benefit.
Their conclusion is that the PRO Autism charity is fully compliant in this respect; autism can affect all elements of society irrespective of ethnic origins, religion, income levels and all other categories into which members of the public may fall. The care and welfare arrangements that PRO Autism facilitates are available to anyone who needs them.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The renovation of 260 Hyde End Road, into two separate Apartments commenced in October 2020, but not without considerable difficulty because of the Covid-19 pandemic - availability of both person(s) and supplies - and issues with the bat survey, which meant very long delays in being able to replace the roof (which finally commenced July 2021) which hindered much of the work due to the many roof leaks.
The Apartments at 260 Hyde End Road are being provided as ‘bespoke’ properties with a ‘high end’ completion suitable for the tenant. Each Apartment will accommodate one autistic adult with a separate room and toilet provided for the carer(s). These properties will enable the tenant to remain for the rest of their lives when possible.
Rental income from the four properties continued to be received during the year under review, except for four months when the charity shop was unable to open and therefore rent was not taken for this period.
