Governing Document: Trust Deed dated 7[th] April 1982.
Aims and Activities:
Aims of the Trust Fund:
To raise Funds within Salcombe, Malborough and Hope Cove to support local charities and deserving projects/causes. As well as National and International causes usually within the world wide Rotary Umbrella.
Main activities:
-
1) Organisation and Operational Management of a day long Festival (Crabfest) during the first Bank Holiday weekend in May in Salcombe.
-
2) Organisation of public dinner with Raffle and Auction.
-
3) Organisation of Community Carol Service with collection taken.
-
4) Collection made when taking a sleigh decorated float with Father Christmas around our area two evenings in December.
Funds raised by the above are supplemented by public and member donations.
Achievements:
Making Annual Donations/grants totalling over £24,000 benefitting 9 local and national charities. A Summary of these donations/grants is shown in the Trust Accounts. This year we have exceeded all previous years in terms of income and donations quite considerably. This was mainly due to an additional revenue stream to our main fundraising event which was
for this year only. Other adjustments to our fund raising events also produced positive results. We therefore conclude that this year was, once again, a successful year in achieving our aims.
Additional Governance:
Club and Trust matters are discussed at weekly meetings of members. Once a month there is a Business Meeting at which decisions are made on projects, applications for funding and donations. A Financial Status Report is given at each Business Meeting (bank balances, payments in the pipeline, payments made).
Declaration:
The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees Report above.
