Trustees Annual Report for Year Ending 31 August 2025

for

St Thomas's Parochial School Association (St Thomas' PTA)

Registered Charity: 1016973

Trustees as at 31 August 2025:

Sarah Morley; Rebecca Judson; Joanne Hayes; Katherine McGregor

The Parent Teacher Association is a group of like minded people whose primary aim is to raise funds for the school. These funds go towards “extras” that cannot be funded directly by the school and also towards much needed equipment that requires our additional input.

Our secondary aim is more of a social one. We aim to make our events as inclusive as possible ensuring that they attract attention from across the community. There is also a very social aspect to being a member or helper of the PTA. We are always looking to hear from people who would be willing to help out in any way and it is an ideal way of meeting new people who have the best interests of the school and their children at heart.

All parents and teachers are automatically members of our PTA, and we welcome everyone at our meetings where we organise fundraising events and discuss how to allocate funding.

As ever, the PTA held Christmas and Summer fairs, which were our main fundraising events for the year, alongside a Mothers Day sale, colouring competitions and a Smarties competition.

Grant applications have been successful, with major grants received for the planting of a 'Green Screen' at the Infants site to mitigate polution from the A6. The PTA also has a close relationship with St Thomas' School Streets, and has received matched funding for use with the scheme and other active travel initiatives.

The PTA was also glad to fund the Year 6 'Leavers Festival' and Hoodies, sports equipment for the school, and 'Blue Monday' - a day of cheering and uplifting treats for what can be the bluest Monday in January.

This year, a number of the committee have served their final term as their children have graduated to secondary school; the PTA wishes to offer thanks for their hard work over many years of successful fundraising.
