The Rfverside Centre was an officlal 'warm space. opening 3 days a week durlnE the wlnter. Thos communlty resource has wekomed many people from the surn?undlng area. provldl homemade food and hi8h-quality hot drfnks at 'rK)t for prkes. Th15 has also started the buildln8 of frlendships wlth café custor￿. helping to redu￿ the Isolatlon lots of people have felt. It Ss estlmated that we have sp)ken to and given emergerKV food to over 666 famllles through runni￿ one of the Trus5ell Trust foodbanks In connectlon wlth York Foodbank (thls was 20% of the York Foodbank provtsion this year). The Riverside Centre remalned a base for outreath into the communlty around Huntlw Road and Bell FanTr Estate. The Uttle Stsr5 toddler and baby 8roup contlnued thls year Pro￿ry a great place for parents/Care￿ and thelr small children to scthllse. fellowshlp and learn. There are usualty 35 families comln8 every week. Thls year the contlnuatlon of the CAP (Christians Against Poverty) Llfe Skllls course being run at the Rlver51de Centre. The second cohort of 3 people and 5 In the thlrd cohort attended thls course and learned how to budget and how to make ends meet on 3 very tl8ht income. Durt￿ this year we worked with the Ark Churth and the Elim Church to provide a very needed y( group. Thls Spa￿ for fvn arKI friendshlp has seen up to 22 young people each week. The Rlver5ide Centre has also been opened as a welcomlng place for internattonal students In combinatlon wlth Frlend5 International wlth up to 10 students each ses510n. We contlnue to work wtth the York based Chrlstlan chartty Bundles of Joy to store thelr baby equlpment, clothlng and consumables In the second-floor rooms of the Rlverslde Centre. They dlstrlbute a bundle of baby Items to tdmllles In the York area who are havlng a baby and are in need. Durln8 thls flnandal year the Besom Charlty also contlnued USI￿ SP￿ In ts Certre to supply those In need. The Church contlnues to make the Rlverslde Centre wdllable to the Intematlonal con8regatlon of the York Ellm Church. We work wlth other churches and the One vol￿ group across York to where ft is beneficlal. The trustees have Increased the reserves with a plan to have a couple of months. worth of essentlal out801￿. Income has increased partitsjlafly generous 8lfts from church members. The mort8a8e and ener8y Cost have remained hl8h thls year, tsking a high proportlon of the Income.
