Trustee's Annual Report 2023-2024 tharty is gO¥Ern￿ by its O)nstltut5on adopted 24 Aprfl 1990 as amended 29 September 2009. ur Daventry CtrK)ral Society v(dS estsblished as a charity by l)eed of Constitutlon In 1990 with Charity Commission number 1010764. The wrp3se of the Soclety Is to promote, Improve arKI mainta'n public educati(￿ in the appreclation ￿ the art and Saen￿ of muslc, In all its aspects, ty the presentation of public o)ncerts and reatals, and by such cther mearB as the Charlty, through its management committee, shall ¢termine frcn time to ts'me. We aim to fulfil our misslon by being an erthuslastlc and friendly clx)ir, and being welcoming to w members. We share tsjr interest and talent with the local o)mmunity In ￿orrnan￿ of a V¥ide rarKJe of musical les. Our weekly rehearsats and peric#Jic w(kS￿l￿ help us to develop our skills. The list of Trustees and off￿TS Is set out on Page 5 of reFK)rL The planning of our activities is done with regard to the Charlty Commission s get￿ra1 guidarKe on public beneft. We aim to perform as a cholr to the highest level L our ability, In cder that our audien￿ tenefits from experienoNJ high quality muslG This often requires the aydrtlon of soloists and orchestras for the fijll perf0rrnan￿ of the music, and this costs monw. We attempt to balance quality and affordability at Èwery performano. This Is often a challenge. Th￿re was a to this finanoal year - after Sprlng concert, the idea was to propel Daventry Choral lety forward with a host of new experiences, whilst being mindfvl that th& variety shujld tr￿n be followed by a year of familiarity. Our proieLtM)ns for this th￿? year pattem was that the first (2023-2024) would ha considerable expenses (orchestras, solc4sts etc.) and the second year w0￿d not . thLs ￿11 show In the firkincial year's accounts. This firwncial year commenced with a Sprlng o)ncert - Haydn's Creatlon. We had hosted a successful worksh)p ¢)n the same work a few weeks ph)r to the day itself, and It was dear that this enabled the performano to be superbly polished. The￿ 6 no doubt that Laura Bailie has Impro¥Ed the m￿lca￿ty of c¥Jr perfonnances over the last few years and this was dernonstrated by the Calib￿ of g)lotsts we ￿rnered for this cor£etL The icing on the cake was a very full house -an absdutely mar¥ek)us turn out with a consderable amcAJrt ( feedba(k saylng thts was the best rendrtlJn of the Creati)n many had ever WIt￿&Sed.
