I want to stsrt by thanking some key people who have pitched in and made it possible not only to sustain the PTA but allowed us to continue to generate an income to be proud of. Running the PTA Is a team effort, and my particular thanks go to Nikki Toner for gettlng a fimi grip on our accounts and providing transparency and clarity, Julie Philp for her management of Our School Wishlist, Tara Rees for takin8 on some chairing of class rep meetings. Jo Keir for produclng all the PTA newsletters. Niki Morgan for her capable management of all our social media. Claire Jacks for designing countless beautiful posters, and special mentlon to Lis Soldal Jeens, knsa Probets and Jenny Sparflo for their courage and creativity in reimagining and launchlng new events overthe last 12 months. Thank5 also to the following people who have consistently made the time to attend committee meetings. participate in decision making and support the PTA- without them we would not be able to function: Maddy Forsyth, Josefina Bravo, Nikki Moulton Goddard, Claire Madden, Flona Sutherland, Teresa Miao, Nlkki Shah, Meryl Hopkins, and Karoline Atkins. So many people have contributed their time, skills. and energy. Thank you to everyone on the committee and all the class representatives who have contributed this year. All the events and fundraising activities we have organlsed have ralsed a grand totsl of £28.424 for both schools. Autumn We began the year by cancelling our annual Fireworks Evenln8 whlch usually raises in the regi1￿ of £3,&J). With1Sttle prospett of a Chrlstmas Falr and the associated £4,C((I, the commlttee set about ¢¢￿1ft8 up wlth new Ideas to ralse money, keep the school communlty connected and our spirlts up. At half term, with the Boris ban on trick-or-treatln& and stay Ic¢al measures firmly In place, we were all offered some seasonal spooky rellef courtesy of Llsa Probets and her Halloween trail in Kneller gardens. It was wonderful to see small group5 of Trafal8ar chlldren havlnB fun c(Mnpletlng the tr1 In their costumes over half term. Thank you to Llsa and her husband Graham for puttln8 thls trail t￿ether and estsblishln8 a great cc¥nmunrty link with the Kneller gardens Café team who klndly stored and dlstributed the prlzes. ￿On8 wrth our pumpWn caMn8 competltlon. we raised almost £9C() at Halloween. In November a5 the second national lockdown came into force, Lis Soldal-jeens tsme to the re$￿e by organising our first Viitual Qulz Ni8ht in collaboration with Rob at Inte￿Upt the Routine. Thls was another successful Irxal parthership that resulted Sn two further qulzzes and £1,3W of funds overthe course of the year. Thanks to Jenny Spafflo introdwirvd a new fvndralser- B¥2Sthwi- and rnanag1￿ all the108lstics requlred to maintaln soclal distsncing, as well as the challere of keeping ba￿ dry in all weat￿r5. These events have generated over £1,2CQ this year and enabled famllles to have much needed clear tyjts when charrty shops were closed. By far the biggest event of the Autumn term 5$ thristmas. Dwite not having a Xmas Fair to look forward to. we were determlned to create some festive fun. We were able to80 ahead with the design your ovm Christmas cards. a big thank you to Nlkk5 Moulton God(iard for arrangirtg this a8ain1£31KJI. Where possible, we adjusted our everrts so we could still run them within govemment8uidelines. Thanks to Tara Rees and her small team of elves. tor w(Kkin8 around restrrrtions to create a magical Infant Christmas Bazaar, not lust on￿, but on consecutive days in two locations. ensuring year group bubbles where maintslned. With the agreement to increase the present prio to £1 this event contributed £9CKJ but more Importanty, it continued to be a special event for the chIld￿n that slBnals the start of the countdown to (hrlstmas. Thanks to Sally Hughes and Amy Dignam for organising our annual sale of thristmas Trees. In previous year5. the sale of trees has been primarily driven through a stsll at the Christmas Fair. but with the increifible sUpp￿t of Julie Philps to move the sales onto Wshllst, we were able to more than double previcKs years, sales make a profit of over £12CQ.

Where it was not possible to complywith the restrictions. the commrttee came up with new approaches. Can(fice Simms did an fantastic job intro(luang an online Christmas raffle. Thank to all the l(Kal businesses, parents. and friends of the school for their kind donations. We had over 50 prites and were able to offer publiaty to many local businesses who regulady support the school as well as raising £8cKI. Thank you to Sara Morton who sponsored the raffle with her letting agent boards. Followin8 the popularity of the half term trall. Karoline Atkins created a Christmastrail around Kneller gardens which provided some mLKh-needed fvn over the Chrfsbnas holidays when many people had to ¢han8e their original plans to see relatives and friends. Thanks to Kardine. tisa Probets and Julie Philp for their assistsnce ¥￿th this Lwent whith raised nearly £5CQ. By far the low pThnt of the year was havln8 to take the difficult thci%on to cancd the Grottojust an hour before 5howtime. Despite the inevitable disapptintment, Lis Sddal Jeens, Ma88ie Kay and their helpers demonstrated that the infant playground can be transfomied into a winter wonderland and we hope to be able to use thls new fonnat in the near future. Thank you to Lls, Maggle, and last yearfs class 3B for all th￿[ work and a special mentlon to Paras at Memories for donating the balloon decorations and to Niki mC￿n all her effcfts decoratm& as well all the parents who generously donated their tlcket price to the s¢hool1£3681. Spring As we moved into the Spr1r￿ temi, any ￿MaInIng Optimism that we were getting back to nomial was dashed when the gOVernm￿t announced the third national Ic(kdown. The majority of families were once again fadna the challenges of home learnlnB and after such a genercws effort from the sthool communty In the Autumn tem), the committee declded to slow down the pace of events. All ￿anned events In the Sprir8 and Summer terni were ca￿elled, Includln8 the Junior Spring Dlsco, the Maglc show, and the Qulz & Curry Nl8hL Othèr than a second virtual quiz and Bag2Schod collection, thls was a quiet terni. As school reopened, we were able to start up agaln and put on some Easter themed fvn. Thanks to Nlkkl Moulton Goddard ffx puttln8 t¢y8ether the flr5t onllne Easter E8g raffle, sourclng the prlzes, and brtghtenln8 UP the schoc4 wlth her Easter decoratlons which all helped to raise an incredible £500 1+260%). Summer The SLtmmer temi arrived and the whilst the governmènt were pr(knisin8 a roadmap that saw restrictlorts Ilft at the end of June, the committee took the declslon not to organise a Falr and Instead revislted the 19)5 Trafalgar Challenge laltnched In 2020. Acknowledglng the foundln8 year of Trafal8ar and launched on the 19thday of the 5thmonth, all Trafalgar famllles were once agabn challenged to use their individual talents and interests to get active and get sponsored. Once agaln, we were ¢)venvhelmed by the response from children, parents. and staff. Not only did tt ralse a much needed £4,904, but tt showcased the creatbvlty and Indlviduallsm of Junlor puplls and the teamwork of the Infants as they worked together to tsckle dass challenges. A huge thank you to San Klng for hergraphics and to Nikl Mor8an ftr managing the social mèdla. After a year wlthout dlscos v were delhted to be able end the year wlth the usual Year 2 and Year 6 Leavers Dlscos. Thls year we also took the decision to run End ofTemi Dlscos Year 3.4 and 5. A last minute deasion to move them outiloor5 proved to be popular and the children had a wc*)derful end to the school year dancin8 and ￿n￿'D8 together with everyone's fovourSte new DJ, Tony Macaronl. In to1￿ this came to over £4,(XK) and averaged at £194 per class. We also continue to ralse moneyfrom E3syfundra1￿￿x(£467} and are into our strond year as a charFty for Amazonsmile donatlons1£6441. Both these allow us to eam money while people shop at t)0 cost to them.

This year our Sthool Wishlist has continued to provide a vrny for parents to donate £1,4￿ towards equipment and resources the school really needs as well as prowding a way f(¥ us to manage the challenges of virtual fundraising- pots of gold, Christmas trees and trall ticke￿ A massNe thank you to Julie Philp for creatingthis platfomi and for her ong01r￿ support which enabled us to drive t￿$ irKome. Several of the usual events. includlng the fireworks display. Christmas fair and Summer fair were cancelled. However, this did not redu￿ the motivation and creativity of the PTA to source alternative ways to raise funds. Included in the above fundraisin8 figures are arnounts collected from the online platfomi The Wishlist. This year the PTA invested in a plarform to enable more funds to be colleLted virtually. The PTA now collect contributions for specific item5 on the Wishlist l£1,3981 whith were previously paid dirertly to the school. The Wishlist also allowed for class activities which replace in person cakes sale$1£4.082). which would have been paid directly to the school in previous years. The objective of many of the PTA events is not solely the fundraising but also for enjoyment of the children and the promotion of the PTA as a fundraising body. It was great to see some additional innovative ideas for the children to enjoy during the pandemic. which included the Halloween. Christmas and Easter trails.
