**Purposes:** &#x27;the advancement of education&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of health&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of citizenship or community development&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of environmental protection or improvement&#x27;,&#x27;any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes&#x27;

**Objectives:** 4.1  The objects of the Charity are: Rural and Community Regeneration (a) To preserve, for the benefit of the general public, the historical, architectural and constructional heritage that may exist on Tanera in the landscape and buildings (including any structure or erection, and any part of a building as so defined) of particular beauty or historical, architectural or constructional interest. (b) The advancement of the arts, heritage and culture through the encouragement and education of traditional skills found on Tanera. (c) To provide in the interests of social welfare, facilities or venues and activities on Tanera for recreation and other leisure time occupation available to the public at large to improve the conditions of life in an area of geographical isolation. (d) The advancement of citizenship and community development, particularly in relation to economic and social revitalisation and community cohesion in an area of geographic isolation through (amongst other things): (i) the management of land and associated assets for the benefit of the Tanera Communities and the public in general as an important part of the protection and sustainable development of Scotland&#x27;s natural environment, where &#x27;sustainable development&#x27; means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. (ii) the rural regeneration of the Tanera Communities to encourage stronger social ties, a sense of belonging and involve the local community in the regeneration of Tanera. (iii) building and maintaining partnerships within the community to contribute to the regeneration of Tanera and Tanera Communities. (e) To promote training within the Tanera Communities and with particular reference to skills which will assist the participants in obtaining paid employment in an area of geographic isolation. (f) To encourage, stimulate and support volunteering principally on Tanera and among Tanera Communities. (g) The advancement of education and in particular to promote opportunities for learning for the benefit of the general public. Building Resilience in our Public Services (h) The advancement of health and quality of life for people in the armed forces or in the public or government service within the United Kingdom or people who have been members of the armed forces or in the  public or government service within the United Kingdom through the provision of venues or facilities on or around the isle of Tanera to provide recreational activities or short breaks  (i) The advancement of citizenship and community development, through promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of the armed forces and promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of public service or other government workers Environmental Restoration and Protection (j) The advancement of environmental protection or improvement, particularly in relation to biodiversity through (amongst other things): (iv) the restoration, preservation and conservation of the natural environment in working and wild landscapes and seascapes. (v) the restoration, conservation or protection of wildlife in general or of particular species or habitats primarily on Tanera. (vi) the advancement of education, research and knowledge at all levels and promoting understanding of the role and importance to society of biodiversity, wildlife abundance and ecosystem resilience in the natural environment in working and wild landscapes and seascapes.
