**Activities:** &#x27;It carries out activities or services itself&#x27;

**Purposes:** &#x27;the advancement of citizenship or community development&#x27;,&#x27;the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended&#x27;

**Objectives:** (a) To promote the benefit of young people in Ardrossan and surrounding areas, aged from 11 to 25 years old without distinction of sex, politics, religion, race, cultural background or other opinions by associating the local authority, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time, occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said young people.  (b) To manage the youth centre in partnership with outside agencies by providing opportunities for young people to participate in a range of programmes. These include, educational activities, promoting positive mental wellbeing, tackling social isolation, promoting local and community-based inclusivity and creating a safe space for young people to reach their potential.  (c) To promote the above objectives through working in partnership using a multi-agency approach to ensure young people access a wide range of services/opportunities.  (d) To promote wider community awareness of the need to provide facilities and opportunities for young people. To provide information and to encourage participation in existing facilities and opportunities.  (e) To provide a safe space for youth engagement, consultation and youth voice by supporting young people to voice their views and act on local issues. This involves attending and updating on the centre and young people&#x27;s development by regularly reporting to Joint Youth Forums, Joint Cabinet and Locality Planning Partnership.
