**Objectives:** (b) The advancement of Education It is clear from teaching in deprived areas that children have no exposure to animals other than the odd family pet. The Lois Sherret Trust aims to provide an immersive environment where children can learn about animals, see them up close and hear fundamental facts such as habitats, food chains and life cycles. Also fostering emotional and social learning through promoting empathy and compassion around dealing and caring for the animals. Teaching the children how to show respect for living things and providing valuable insight into the lives of animals which they may not have had a chance to encounter otherwise. (g) The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science Children will be shown and read the book in Scots language as it is written. This will enhance awareness of the Scots language among young children, who may never have had exposure to this previously. An overview will also be given in relation to the meanings/translation of the words and terms used to promote a fuller understanding, this will be enhanced by a question-and-answer session around how the words and phrases could be used in everyday life.
