Objectives: 4 The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 To promote and encourage the development of the science, and the practice of the sport of gliding and soaring in all its aspects by providing unique access to pilot training within Dumfries & Galloway. 4.2 To provide practical education in STEM subjects using the flying of and maintenance of sailplanes to support the advancement of education in science and engineering for those in senior school in Dumfries & Galloway. 4.3 To encourage inter-generational mentoring and relationships in support of Community cohesion via the unique training activities afforded within the Gliding Cub. 4.4 To promote the health and wellbeing of people of all ages by offering outdoor activity in a unique team environment. 4.5 To encourage the pursuit of both sporting excellence and career path development for those living in an Area of Deprivation where resources to access flight training are limited.
