Objectives: 3.1 Subject to clause 3.2, the objects of the CIO are: 3.1.1 The advancement in rural communities of the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Faith and the principles set out in the Ethos Statements. and 3.1.2 such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the charity trustees, put into practice the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Faith and the principles set out in the Ethos Statements in rural communities, including but not limited to: the advancement of education, the prevention or relief of poverty, and the relief of those in need because of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. 3.2 Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
