Objectives: The organisations purposes are: • To promote and inspire excellence in the teaching of Religious and Moral Education (RME), Religious Education in Roman Catholic schools (RERC), and associated subjects (Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies. Philosophy). NB. the interests of STARME do not extend to forms of Religious Observance (Time for Reflection). • To make representations to national bodies(e.g. Scottish Government. Education Scotland. GTC Scotland. Scottish Council for Deans of Education), and international networks (e.g. NATRE. Culham St Gabriels Trust. EFTRE). • To provide fora for the exchange of views on all topics related to RME, RERC, and associated subjects. • To identify teachers developmental needs and endeavour to support them. • To disseminate information on matters relating to RME, RERC, and associated subjects to schools and local authorities.
