The Kippford Association Trustees Annual Report SCO 53966 Year to 31st August 2025
- Structure, Governance and Management:
The Kippford Association was formed in 2025 and is administered in accordance with the terms of the Constitution. The Association was established to takeover from The Kippford Improvement Association and Village Hall (SCO 12840).
2. Objectives and Activities
The Kippford Association’s purposes are:

a) The provision of recreational facilities within Kippford primarily Kippford Village Hall.

b) The advancement environmental protection or improvement through the management and maintenance of the Kippford Community Nature Reserve.

4. Achievements
At its AGM in 2024, The Kippford Improvement Association and Village Hall (KIAVH) received permission from its members to formally progress the transition to a SCIO, the vote was unanimously in favour. The members also unanimously voted to wind up KIAVH once all its assets had been transferred to the new SCIO.
The Kippford Association (The Association) was henceforth established and a new constitution was written. Four interim trustees were appointed. The Association applied to Office of the Scottish Regulator to be approved as a registered charity. The application was approved on 12th February 2025. A new bank account was opened and a transition plan was developed.
As the plan was progressed, it became apparent that a transfer of land from KIAVH was using a plan that did not include part of the assumed property of the KIAVH. This meant additional legal steps had to be undertaken.
At the time of writing, the additional legal steps have been completed and the transfer of the property assets is in the process of being registered with the Registers of Scotland. Once this has concluded, the remaining assets of KIAVH will be transferred to The Association and KIAVH will be wound up. The Association will then be fully operational.
5. Financial Review
As at the end of August this year, The Association had no funds available.

RECEIPTS AND PAYMENTS ACCOUNT FOR YEAR ENDED 31ST AUGUST 2025
As at the year end the charity was still not in operation. Therefore there were no transactions made during the year. The assets of the unincorporated charity Kippford Improvement Association and Village Hall (SCO 12840) remained in that charity and have yet to be transferred to The Kippford Association (SCO 53966). As a result, at the year end the charity had no assets. Further explanation can be found in the trustees report for the year ending 31°t August 2025.
