Structure, Governance and Management 

Newton Presbyterian Church John Ross Memorial is a registered Scottish charity. The charity is governed by its constitution and managed by its trustees. 

The trustees are responsible for the overall governance, financial oversight, and strategic direction of the church. 

Objectives and Activities 

The primary objective of the charity is to advance the Christian faith within the local community. 

The main activities include: 

- Weekly Sunday worship services held at 11:00 a.m. 

- Sunday School for children and young people 

- Bible study and prayer meetings 

- Community outreach and pastoral support 

These activities are provided free of charge and are open to the public. 

Achievements and Performance 

During the reporting period, the church successfully established regular weekly worship services and began developing its Sunday School and community engagement programmes. 

The church has also served as a place of pastoral care and spiritual support for local residents. 

Financial Review 

The charity’s total income for the year was approximately £3,000, primarily from voluntary donations. 

Expenditure was mainly related to essential operational costs, including electricity, gas, and the purchase of basic supplies. 

The trustees consider the financial position of the charity to be stable given its early stage of development. 

Reserves Policy 

The charity maintains minimal reserves due to its current scale of operations. Any surplus is retained to support ongoing ministry and operational needs. 

Future Plans 

The charity plans to continue developing its worship services, expand its Sunday School programme, and strengthen community outreach activities.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
