Objectives: 4 The Association's purposes are: a) To advance environmental protection or improvement by encouraging a variety of people to use the allotments for cultivation of fruit and vegetables and flowers and by helping to raise awareness of issues such as food waste, reducing food miles, increasing composting, supporting biodiversity and habitats for wildlife and issues surrounding the protection of the environment. b) To provide recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended by providing affordable allotment spaces and opportunities for people to keep physically and socially active. c) The advancement of health by providing an environment that encourages outdoor activities in a safe environment. d) To advance education by working with local schools/colleges/youth or other groups, providing dedicated growing space for their use and education on environmental matters
