**Purposes:** &#x27;the advancement of public participation in sport&#x27;,&#x27;the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended&#x27;

**What the charity does:** Nairn Kayak Club exits to promote kayaking and fitness for both recreation and competition. It offers members equipment and facilities, paddlesports companionship, leadership and coaching, to facilitate participation and skills development in paddlesports.    The Club organises regular kayaking activities for members, including weekly winter evening swimming pool coached sessions for those new to the sport, weekly supervised / led summer evening sea kayak sessions, weekly led/ coached surf-ski sessions throughout the year, and ad-hoc sea and river peer and coached paddling trips at other times. The club also organises some outdoor coached sessions for beginners and two major annual open-to-all paddling challenges/ competitions in collaboration with the Paddle Scotland, namely the Spey Challenge and the Moray Firth Challenge. A number of paddling-related evening talks, training and presentations are also provided, along with social events.

**Objectives:** The organisation&#x27;s charitable purposes are a) the advancement of public participation in sport and b) the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. more specifically by: (i) the promotion of kayaking, other paddlesports and fitness, for both recreation and competition. (ii) the provision of equipment and facilities, and paddlesports leadership and coaching, to facilitate participation and skills development in paddlesports.   (iii) the support of other charitable projects and clubs linked to watersports in the Nairn area.
