Trustee recruitment and appointment
The charity is a SCIO governed by a constitution.
So far, no new trustee has been appointed. At RCCG TGS, trustees are
identified through church networks and the wider community, taking into
account the skills, experience and commitment required to support the
organisation’s charitable purposes.
New trustees will be appointed by the existing Board of Charity Trustees,
who have the power to fill vacancies at any time by majority decision at a
properly convened board meeting, in line with the constitution.
All prospective trustees must meet the eligibility criteria set out in the
constitution and charity law, including not being disqualified under the
Scottish Charities Act and not being an employee of the organisation.

Objectives and activities

Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes
Summary of the main activities
in relation to these objects
The charity’s purposes are the advancement and propagation of the
Christian faith through the preaching and teaching of the gospel of
God and His Christ. The organisation also aims to provide relief to
those in need due to poverty, sickness or distress, and to advance
education and learning opportunities.
In furtherance of these purposes, the charity seeks to promote
Christian values, support community development, and contribute to
charitable and missionary activities locally in Edinburgh, across
Scotland and the UK, and internationally.
We delivered our charitable purposes through a combination of faith-
based activities and practical community support. We held regular
worship services, prayer meetings and Bible teachings. We regularly
organised outreach and evangelistic programmes to share the
Christian faith and promote positive values within the community.
As part of our outreach, we also hosted a worship concert within the
community to encourage faith, unity and overall wellbeing.
We supported learning and personal development by running
Christian education programmes, alongside career and skills
development sessions, including guidance on accessing
employment opportunities. Our activities for children, young people
and students provided a safe and supportive environment for
learning, mentoring and personal growth. In addition, we held family
and relationship seminars aimed at strengthening family
relationships, promoting healthy communication, and encouraging
stable and supportive family life.
We also provided support to individuals and families experiencing
hardship. This included assisting with housing costs such as rent,
offering hardship funds, distributing food and groceries, and
supplying essential household items such as furniture to those in
need. We supported students and others facing financial difficulties,
helping them meet basic needs and improve their wellbeing.
Through these activities, we made a meaningful and practical
difference in people’s lives while demonstrating our Christian values
in a compassionate and inclusive way.

Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the
financial period (6 September 2024 –30 September 2025)
During this financial period, the charity achieved significant progress in
delivering its charitable purposes through a combination of spiritual,
developmental and practical support to the community.
We maintained consistent delivery of worship services, prayer meetings
and Bible teaching, alongside active evangelistic and outreach
programmes.
A key highlight was hosting a community worship concert in November,
which brought people together and promoted faith, unity and wellbeing.
We also organised family and relationship seminars, which helped to
strengthen relationships and encourage healthier, more stable family life.
The charity made strong contributions to education and personal
development by running Christian education programmes, career and
skills development sessions, and providing guidance on accessing
employment opportunities. Our children’s events, as well as youth and
student activities, created a supportive and engaging environment for
learning, mentoring and personal growth.
A major achievement during the period was the level of direct support
provided to individuals and families in need. This included:

Provision ofsupportand assistance tothose experiencing
housing difficulties

Provision of hardship fundsand supportto individuals
going throughfinancial challenges

Distribution of groceries and food supplies, particularly to students
and vulnerable individuals
Provision of clothing support to the least privileged within the
church community

Donation of furniture and essential household items, including
targeted support for physically challenged individuals
These interventions made a tangible difference in improving living
conditions, reducing hardship, and supporting the wellbeing of
beneficiaries.
In addition, the charity continued to provide various forms of support and
gifts in line with its mission, ensuring that both spiritual and practical needs
were addressed within the community.
From a financial perspective, the charity demonstrated strong stewardship
and improved efficiency. At the end of the financial period, the current
account had a balance of £695. We had been able to save (transfer)
£15,300 to our reserves (savings account), providing financial stability and
supporting the charity’s sustainability going forward. reflecting more
focused and prudent use of resources. Spending was prioritised towards
core charitable activities and direct community impact, while maintaining
essential operational commitments such as rent and programme delivery.
Overall, the charity successfully combined faith-based initiatives with
meaningful practical support, delivering measurable impact in the lives of
individuals and families while managing its resources responsibly and
sustainably.

Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy The Trustees aim to maintain reserves equivalent to six months of core on reserves operating costs to safeguard the continuity of the ministry and to ensure that the charity can meet its financial obligations as they fall due. The Trustees define reserves as unrestricted funds available for general use, after allowing for any designated funds. The policy is to hold reserves sufficient to cover key operational costs, including premises hire, essential ministry expenses, and other ongoing commitments.

The Trustees strictly preserve the reserves for use in genuine emergencies and in support of the charity’s long-term strategic objective of acquiring a permanent building. Reserves are not intended to fund routine short-term expenditure except where unexpected circumstances arise. The level of reserves is reviewed at least annually as part of the budgeting and financial review process.

Details of any deficit At the end of the financial period, the charity held a net surplus of approximately £15,300, reflecting good financial management and disciplined control of expenditure. The Trustees are satisfied that this surplus is appropriate, aligns with the reserves policy, and supports the charity’s ongoing financial stability as a going concern.
