Through this foundation, we aim to continue his legacy, bringing hope and help to those who need it most. Peter was born and bred in East Kilbride. A talented musician who, with his band “The Misfits” played the clubs and pubs of Lanarkshire for many years. Married to Dawn, they have two daughters, Emily and Eilidh, who have carried their Dad’s musical talents onto the stage. Peter was a truly inspirational character, beloved by his family and many, many friends around the world. He was always generous with his time and an active charity fundraiser, especially for the RNLI. Peter and Team Gough were well known for being at the centre of Portpatrick Lifeboat Week where they holidayed and spent a huge period of time in "the Port". He took his musical skills onto stage with Studio 32 Theatre Company, singing and acting in a range of shows. In 2020 he had was diagnosed with bowel cancer. In typical Peter-style, he bravely fought a three-year battle with inspirational strength and dignity. The support of the Beatson Cancer Charity and, finally, the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow was hugely appreciated and had a lasting impact on the Gough family.
