Pink Ladies of Argyll
Chairman's Report for the Period 19 July 2024 to 31 December 2024
As we reflect on our first year as a registered charity, we are filled with gratitude. Our heartfelt thanks go to the volunteers and fundraisers whose creativity and commitment have powered everything from Golf Days to Gala Dinners, Sponsored Walks to Marathons.
A special thanks to the , whose continued support - through deep personal loss - honours the memory of our dear friend Her kindness and spirit live on through the love shown by her friends, family, and colleagues. We miss her deeply and thank her for all she gave.
This year, beyond our flagship Pink Ladies Day, we've launched health and wellbeing classes, provided gym memberships and massage therapy, and established monthly meet-and-greet sessions in Oban, Lochgilphead, and Dunoon, ensuring our Pink Ladies feel seen, supported, and connected.
"Thank you for including me in such a wonderful day. I arrived in trepidation as I don't want to share or talk or let anyone know but I left with new friends who shared and talked and let everyone know!"
"It was a day filled with emotion for me from the moment I stepped on the coach and was faced by so many comrades and it's something very hard to share but I know everyone today would "get it"."
"Thank you to the hotel and staff, the wonderful treatment ladies and everyone who made today so good I might just come back if invited. You especially made me feel special."
To my fellow trustees - , and - thank you for your dedication and encouragement. Your time, energy and belief in our mission have been invaluable.
We look forward to building on this strong foundation as we continue to grow and evolve.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
The charity received total income of £19,531 primarily from fundraising events, donations and merchandise.
Expenditure of £14,701 was focused on service delivery, community outreach, gym and fitness membership and financing all aspects of The Pink Ladies Day.
We ended the year with reserves of £4,830 which the trustees believe is sufficient to cover five months of operating costs, outwith the Pink Ladies Day funds which are raised later in the year.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES
The trustees are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in Scotland, the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) and the provisions of the charity's constitution requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to
-
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
-
observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP;
-
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) and the provisions of the charity's constitution. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Pink Ladies of Argyll
I report on the accounts for the period 19 July 2024 to 31 December 2024 set out on pages six to nine.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1)(a) to (c) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of the independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner's statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with Regulation 8 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met; or
- (2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
