Objectives: The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 To advance of the arts, heritage, and culture, through promoting the diverse Indian cultural heritage and delivering cultural and learning activities that celebrate the Indian diverse cultural heritage, through organizing and delivering festivals, musical and otherwise and through advancing and promoting the cultural heritage and inclusion for the diverse Indians in Glasgow. 4.2 To advance active citizenship and community cohesion through the development and delivery of democratic participation programs, advancing cultural diversity at various levels, promoting and enhancing the cultural rights of citizens, the encouragement of voluntary activities and increasing the involvement of individuals and communities in cultural and art activities: art and culture educational activities, training opportunities, art and cultural clubs as well as community development initiatives, facilitating engagement and equal participation of the diverse Indian communities in Glasgow in art and culture programs. 4.3 To promote race equality and diversity through empowering the diverse Glasgow Indians communities and advocating shared experiences, combating hate crime while facilitating and GLASGOW INDIANS ASSOCIATION (GIA) 3 delivering inclusive programs and activities that permit equal representation for these diverse communities in society at all levels while celebrating our multicultural Scotland: enhancing equality for the diverse Indians in Glasgow via advancing of equal health and active life including mental and physical wellbeing, progressing community cohesion, and assisting in promoting and advancing equal rights and activities to progress, for example, equal health and wellbeing and preventative activities and programs for Glasgow Indians
