The trustees have the pleasure in presenting their report together with the financial statements for the period ending 31[st] of August 2025. The following accounts represent all financial transitions from 3[rd] June 2024 - 31[st] August 2025.

## **Structure, Governance and Management**
## _**Constitution**_
The charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). The charity was registered on the 3[rd] June 2024. The Trustees are all members of the charity.
_**Trust Purposes**_
The objects of the band are:
- 1) To promote and encourage the culture and advancement of pipe band music through the local and wider area.
- 2) We will be an inclusive band without discrimination.
- 3) To provide coaching in piping and drumming and to perform as a pipe band.
- 4) To strive to achieve musical and performance excellence and participation at the highest possible level.
- 5) To develop partnerships with youth development programmes that encourage and sustain the musical heritage of piping and drumming.
- 6) To create and maintain a bon of fellowship with pipers and drummers everywhere.
## _**Appointment of Trustees**_
The Trustees will be entitled, by means of resolution through a majority vote, to appoint any individual as a Trustee.
## _**Activities**_
The committee have met both online and in person during this time and have added the constitution to the OSCR and arrange our accounting dates in line with our operational year.
## _**Achievements and Performance**_
- We have successfully continued working relationships with Forest Bank Community Centre and are now forming a working relationship with Xcite in West Lothian within Armadale Academy as our new practice venue.
- We hace successfully performed at a Remembrance Parade in Tranent.
- We were lucky to gain £925 from the WEst Lothian Councial to help with venue hire costs.
- We have performed at numerous Gala Days with East and Est Lothian and even a Holy Fair as far away as Mauchline.
- We recently competed at the UK Championships where the band received 6[th] place overall and even placed 2[nd] as a drum corp. This was a huge achievement for such a young band.
- We have also competed at the Scottish, European and World Championships where we received some lovely comments and gained a lot of experience.
## _**Financial Review**_
Funding this year was obtained from:
- £10,047.99 was raised through subscription membership fees
- £6,136.81 was donated from various parties
- £1,475 was received as prize money from contests

## **Notes to the accounts - for the period ended.**
## **1. Basis of Accounting**
The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Cahrities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The accounts have been agreed by all the Trustees within Livingston Caledonia Pipe Band.
## **2. Natures and Purpose of Funds**
The unrestricted funds are those that may be used by the Trustees in accordance with the objectives of the charity. The Trustees maintain a single unrestricted fund for the day-to-day running of Livingston Caledonia Pipe Band.
## **3. Related Part Transactions**
Trustee’s remuneration: no fees were paid to any Trustees for their services as members of the board.

## **Independent Examiners Report:**
I report on the accounts of the charity for the period 3rd June 2024 - 31st August 2025.
## **Respective responsibilities of trustee’s examiner**
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustees Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirements of Regulation 10(1)(d) of the Accounts Regulation does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of Independent Examiners Statement**
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination included a review of the accounting records kept by a charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes in consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanation from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken to not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express and audit opinion on the view given by these accounts.
## **Independent Examiners Statement**
During my examination, no matter has come to my attention
1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect requirements: ○ To keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and
- To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
Have not been met, or
2. To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
