4ward2gether AGM 31[st] of March 2025 at the YMCA

Chair Report

4ward2gether is organised with the primary goal of promoting equality, belonging, inclusion and diversity. Our aim within the charity is to advance education and personal development, citizenship and community development, conflict resolution and reconciliation and human rights

Over the past year we have worked with young people across Ayrshire and Ireland assisting with their personal and communal development through various residentials. We organised a residential trip in Kilmarnock (Dean Castle) with 30 young people. There were 15 participants from Dublin and 15 from 4ward2gether. The 3-day trip consisted of workshops centring around inclusion and teamwork. In August we held a residential in Darvel (Gowanbank) with 12 young people from Luton Irish Forum and 12 from 4ward2gether. The group spent 3 days integrating with each other and developing their confidence by making new friends. In December 4ward2gether hosted a training residential at Gowanbank. This was an opportunity for members of the group to learn about youth work from Youth Scotland.

We planned an Inclusivity Day at the Park Hotel in Kilmarnock in June 2024. This involved 100 pupils from six different schools across East Ayrshire participating in an array of workshops. Each workshop had a different theme- hate crime (Police Scotland, antisectarianism (Nil by Mouth), health and wellbeing (Youth Scotland), mental health (Youth Scotland) and equality and inclusivity (4ward2gether).

We visited Onthank Primary and hosted 3 different workshops for over 80 P7 pupils. The workshops covered inclusion, team building and identity.

We have held several successful fundraisers over the year. Particularly social events for the elderly in the community such as line dancing and live music. These activities are promote a better community within East Ayrshire whilst helping to fund our diversity and inclusion focused workshops.

We are currently planning a residential trip for 30 S4 pupils which consists of 3 days of youth-led workshops covering different social topics.
