The organisation's purposes, as set out in its constitution, are:

_(A) Community Engagement through Event Hosting: To organise and provide a variety of community events within the Helensburgh & Lomond area. These events aim to foster community spirit and engagement, with all profits generated being used to support local causes and charities._

_(B) Grant Funding for Local Initiatives: To allocate grant funding to local causes and charities, derived from the profits of our events. The grants are intended to support projects and initiatives that contribute to the well-being of the local community, addressing local needs and improving the quality of life within the Helensburgh & Lomond area._

## **Activities and Achievements**

This report covers the first accounting period of the organisation, from its incorporation on 23 April 2024 to 31 December 2024.

During this period, the charity was in its establishment phase. The trustees focused on setting up the governance and administrative foundations required to operate effectively as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. No trading activity, fundraising events, or grant distributions took place during this initial period.

The charity did not open a bank account or receive or expend any funds during the period.

## **Financial Review**

The charity had no income or expenditure during the period. No bank account was opened and no assets were held at the period end. The charity had no liabilities at 31 December 2024.

The trustees are satisfied that the charity is in a sound financial position and that it has adequate resources to continue its activities in the coming year.

## **Risk Management**

As the charity was dormant during this period, the trustees considered the principal risk to be the timely establishment of operational infrastructure to allow the charity to begin fulfilling its purposes. The trustees have taken steps to address this in the subsequent period.

## **Plans for the Future**

Following the establishment period, the trustees plan to begin delivering on the organisation's charitable purposes. A bank account application has been submitted to allow the charity to begin receiving and managing funds.

In the coming year, the charity intends to organise a programme of community events in the Helensburgh and Lomond area, including a summer festival, a Burns Supper, a Santa Dash, and a local fireworks display. All profits generated from these events will be redistributed through a grant funding programme to support local causes and charities.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT**

On the accounts of Helensburgh Events and Reinvestment Trust (SC053302)

For the period 23 April 2024 to 31 December 2024

## **Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner**

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 ("the 2005 Act") and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) ("the 2006 Regulations"). The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1)(a) to (c) of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1)(c) of the 2005 Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement**

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.

## **Independent Examiner's Statement**

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(a) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements of the 2005 Act and the 2006 Regulations have not been met; or

(b) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts.
