The charity is set up to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and well being of men of all ages and backgrounds living in the Sanquhar and District area by: A) Creating ,developing and maintaining a facility, namely the Men's Shed, B) Offering the opportunities for to meet and undertake creative ,physical, purposeful ,and recreation facilities of their choice, C) Reducing isolation ,thus contributing to their health and wellbeing, D)|Developing the capacity of men to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community. How the above is done. The shed is a rented church hall with the shed having exclusion rights to the building.. The building provides a socialising area with a library, television ,pool table and facilities for carrying out light projects, such as painting and model making. The workshop area is divided into work stations where specific types of projects are carried out, such as painting, crook making, wood turning etc.
Objectives: The purpose of the organisation is to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and well being of men of all ages and backgrounds living in Sanquhar and District By: a) Creating, developing and maintaining a facility, namely a Men's Shed. b) Offering opportunities for men in the Sanquhar area to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful and recreational activities of their choice. c) Reducing isolation of men in the area thus contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing. d) Developing the capacity of men in the Sanquhar area to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community.
