Our aim is to bring more visitors to the town and help rejuvenate businesses. We are following advice from our 'Blueprint for Annan' document. At present, we organise a series of events throughout the summer connecting themes from Annan's rich history. We have involved local businesses, community groups, schools, churches, disadvantaged people, sports groups, etc, in addition to other local visitor attractions e.g. Annandale Distillery, Annan Museum and the Devil's Porridge Museum. Events take place in various venues around the town and include walks, talks, exhibitions, concerts and a Clan Gathering. We hope the festival will benefit the local community, businesses and visitors alike. The local community have been involved in a Community Art Project and work continues trying to improve some of the historic sites of the town by erecting interpretation hubs, improving pathways and highlighting our Motte & Bailey site and the importance of regular maintenance.
