Achievements and performance
Achievements and performance
-
Since our incorporation as a charity, we have achieved the following:
-
e Successfully applied for Sport Scotland 20k funding (through Skateboard GB) to create a part time role assisting with our charitable objectives. We have also been successful in the current round of funding for a slightly increased award of 40k.
-
e Ran the Scottish Open (March 2024) event to provide high level Scottish competition judged in the same format as Skateboard GB (and Olympic) events. This allowed the next generation of Scottish Skateboarders the opportunity to experience this type of competition and to get the exposure to allow them to enter the Skateboard GB Championships.
-
e Ran the 17" annual War of the Thistles grass root event in May 2024 to bring the UK skateboarding community together to compete across to different venues over 1 weekend in Scotland. This is a fun event running with a cash for best tricks format
-
e Helped with the set-up of a GB hub based in the Loading Bay Skatepark in Glasgow where the Skateboard GB employee helps to develop the Scottish group of the Pipeline-Talent Pathway Athletes.
-
e Helped run UK Park Championships in Loading Bay in Glasgow in October 2024
Financial Review
The charity has made a net loss of £82.97 in the year with £1,531.88 held in cash and bank balances at the year end.
The level of reserves held will be sufficient to pursue the charitable objectives in the coming year.
Plans for Future Periods
We are currently working on planning for the Scottish Park and Street events being held on the 224 and 23” of March. This will be held over 2 days at the Loading Bay skatepark. We are also working on the planning for the 18 War of the Thistles event to be held in May 2025.
