Promote the many and varied careers in the traditional Building sector to young people. Help stakeholders make informed decisions on how to repair, maintain and/or retrofit their traditional buildings for energy savings. Promote the important role traditional Building sector plays in the Scottish economy and society.

Objectives: The advancement of education School engagement to promote the many and varied careers in construction to young people. CPD and online content for industry where gaps in delivery are identified. The advancement of arts, heritage, culture and science. Promoting the importance of traditional buildings to Scotland's heritage and culture and the need, and how, to repair and maintain them for future generations to enjoy. Development of a school based activity to demonstrate how a young persons interest in art and design could lead to a career in the traditional building sector. Highlighting the science of traditional buildings in ensuring repairs and maintenance are carried out correctly and the potential careers for young people in this area. The promotion of equality and diversity. The Construction Skills Investment Plan prepared by the Scottish Government stated the proportion of females in construction and related frameworks has increased slightly over time, from 1.6% in 2009/10 to 2% in 2013/14, however, it remains amongst the most gender segregated framework groupings. We will actively promote the many and diverse careers in construction to young women in schools and where possible, use positive female role models in these demonstrations.
