TRUSTEES, REPORT
The Trustees presenl their report with the financial slatements of the charity for the period
from its commencement on 15 January 2024 to 31 January 2025. The Kyle MGKean
Foundation is an unincorporaled associat'on and a registered charity in Scotland, charity
number SC 053062. It operates from 4 Greenlaw Path, Chapelhall, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, ML6
8WJ.
Objectlves and activities
The objectives of the charity are to provid& financial assistance and support. by provision of
grants for respite holidays or day trips, for children with can￿r and their families.
Trustees, respon8lbllities
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the charity's annual report and the financial
statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards.
The law applicable to charities in Scotland requires the charity Trust88S to prepare financial
statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the
charity and of the incoming reSoUr￿S and application of reSour￿S of the Gharity for that
period. In preparing thes6 financial statements the Trustees are required to .'

The Trustees are responsible for keeping appropriate accounting records thal disclose with
reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charily and enable them lo
ensure that the financial stslements comply with the Charities and Trustees Investrnent
Iscotlandl Act 2005, the Charities Accounts {Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) and
Ihe provisions of the charity's governing do¢uments.
They are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the
prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
Trustee recruiknent and appointment
Trustee recruitment and appointment is done yearfy at the Annual Gen8ral Meeting where
voting systèm is used by members.

Achievements during the year
This first period saw tha organisation formed in name of Kyle McKean who sadly passed
away from childhorrtl cancer. Formal charitable status was alg) oblained from the Office of I
Scottish Charity Regulator IOSCR). The charity has prijvided support and resources to many
families affected by child cancer and expand8d its range of contacts with organisalions and
indwiduals both in th8 heaithcare sector as well as in wider support ne￿OrkS.
Financial reviow
The charity's primary source of income is from dI￿ationS recewed, etther direcly or from its
presence on the Just Giving online fundraising plafform. During this first periLyd of operation to
31 January 2025 a total of £34,593 was raised from these sources. The principal area of
charitable expenditure is on grants for respite holidays or day trips, for children with cancer
and their families. Such payments amounted to £21,269 in the peri￿. Total expenditure
amounted to £22,893 resulting in a reported surplus of £11,700.
Total funds at 31 January 2025 were also £11,700, all of which were unrestricted.
Reserves policy
The Trustees have assessed the level of free reserves (i.e. those funds not tied up in fix￿1
assets or desbjnated restricted funds) that the foundation will require to sustain its operalions
and are satisfied that with the continued support of its funders this will continue to be
achievable for th8 foreseeable future.
In tha charity's current circumstances, the Trust8es would 8xpacl to fK)Id r8S8rves equivalent
to be￿een three months, and nine months, total axp6nditur8. The charity's total funds and
free reseryes at 31 January 2025 were £11,700. This represents approximately sx months.

Future plans
The Trust8es will conlinue to administer the charity in accordance with its constttution and
governing documents. There are no current plans to aiter the way that the foundation is
administ8[￿ or financially structur8d.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
TO THE MEMBERS OF KYLE MCKEAN FOUNDATION
I report on the accounts for the period ended 31 January 2025 which are set out on pages 5 to
Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wsth
the terms of the Charities and Truslee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities
Accounts {Scotland} Regulations 2006. The charity's Truslees consider that the audit
requirement of Regulation 1011 } {d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my
responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(11 (c) of the Act and to
stste whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examinerfs statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts
Iscotlandl Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept
by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from
the Trustees Con￿rning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the
evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion
on the accounts.
Independent Examlner's statoment
In the course of my examination. no matter has come to my attention
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any malerial respect the rèquirements '.
to keep accounting records in accordan￿ with Section 44{1) (a) of the 2005 Act and
Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with
Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met. or
2. to which, in my opinion, attention should bo drawn in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
