The Charity is a Scottish CharFtsble Incorporated Organisatlon la SCIOI. It was registered in its
current leRal forni on 13 December 2024. Tr charity was prevlously an unincorporated association
but chan8ed hs le8al form to a SCIO. The a￿tS of the unlncorporated assoclatlon were transferred
to the SCIO on the 13 December 2024. It h•5 a sln8le tler structure •nd as such th• trustees are the
member5 Of the charity.
Appolntment of trustres
The rnanagemert commlttee. whlch nornially meets on the first Thursday of each month, are the
charivs trustees. Membership of the management comrnittee is open to anyone with a vested
interested in the communities Community For Food seNes. Tr￿tee5 are eletted al the annual
geneial meetlng wtilch 15 held In March. There musi tre a mlnimum of three rmsiees and a
maxlmum gf ten.
Purpose and A¢tlvltles
Community For Food's charitsble purpose IStt￿ preventlon or rel*f of poverty 10 famllles of pupils
In partner schools ref•rred to us in the Balerno, Cunle and Juniper Green areas of Edinburgh by
providing- gr•nts, item3 and senri¢es to those farnilies in need and/or charbties, or other
organisations workin8 to prevent or relieve poverty to the same families.

We flnlshed 2024 supporting 33 families and continued to workwlth our Sch￿15 to ensure we are
3ware of aryfamllies who need our sUPPOrt.
Despiie the cost of food increasins the team continue to keep costs as low as posslble whilst Still
offerin8 the much needed necessities to families.
A huge achievement was raLsln8 the fvnds for 3 steèl shel¥ln8 5tnJctwes to drive organisatlon and
efnclenry In our plcklrB and packin8 processes.

Our maln source offunding comes in the fom of grantsfrom other charitable bodles and
businesses. These funds are often unrestrlcted and can so can ￿ spent on food for the famllles we
seNe, on occolon the funds are restricted and need to be spent on spedfic projeds tD imwove our
offerin8 and efficiency.
We are fortunate to have a 8rowln8 number of Indlvlduals that donate money ￿ch rnonth by direct
debit.

Thè trustees. poli￿ is to retsin 3 months worth of normal running cc6ts In order to meet
commltments and to cover any unexpected expendlture. Three month5 expenditure stands at c£6k
and reserves are in excess of this at £22k. The trustees believe that our reserves are $ufficient.

I report on the financial statements of Community For Food for the period ended 3tst December 2024

Respectlve responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The charitws Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of
the Ch3rities and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charitie5 Accounts (Scollandl
Regulations 2006 las amended). The charity Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation
10111 Idl of the 2006 Accounts Regulations doe5 not app￿. It 15 my responsibility to examine the accounts
U5 required under section 44111 {cl of th• Act and to state whether particular matters have come to mv
atientlon.
Basi5 of Independent Examiner's Statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An
examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of Ihe
accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures
n the account5, and seeks explanations from the Trustees concernin8 any such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provide all the evldence thai would requlred in an audil and consequently I do not
express an audii opinion on the view given by the account5.
