Summary of Main Achievements During the Financial Period

During this financial period, Norinemindeyes Culture Connect Incorporated achieved significant growth, strengthened its community impact, and expanded its cultural, creative, and wellbeing services across Edinburgh. One of our proudest moments was being selected as a finalist for the North Edinburgh Community Awards under the category of Best Community Group , a recognition that celebrates our commitment to cultural empowerment, community support, and inclusion.

We successfully launched Edinburgh’s first Afro Food Bank , providing culturally appropriate African and ethnic minority foods to families facing food insecurity, refugees living in hotels, and individuals without access to cooking facilities. This initiative has become a lifeline to many, offering dignity, nourishment, and culturally familiar ingredients that promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

Our charity expanded its creative and cultural programmes, including African drumming and dance workshops, performance arts, cultural cooking sessions, and mentoring for emerging

musicians and creatives. Through our Innovators Hub, we supported artists with materials, training, and access to funding opportunities, helping them showcase their talents and gain visibility.

The NextPoint Youth Programme was developed to support teens and young adults with wellbeing activities, creative learning, skill-building workshops, and mental health support. We also strengthened our monthly communal meals, providing a warm space for families to eat together, connect, and access support.

Partnerships with local organisations, including Edinburgh Council, Corra Foundation, and the National Lottery Community Fund, enabled us to expand services, host events, and increase our outreach.

Overall, this year marked a breakthrough period where Norinemindeyes Culture Connect deepened its reach, uplifted marginalised voices, and continued building a culturally rich, supportive, and inclusive community.
