**Objectives:** 1. Scottish Borders Space Trail's purposes are: a. The advancement of education and exploration of the solar system. Through an education hub/visitors centre representing the sun. and the physical exploration of a scale model of the planets of the solar system across about 35 miles of the Scottish Borders countryside. b. The advancement of heritage and science. The Space Trail will become part of the heritage of the Scottish Borders. The planets will be formed using local materials, and local skills in their construction where possible. The hub and the space trail will expand visitors? knowledge about local geology, earth science and the solar system. c. The engagement of children and adults around the concept of Planet Earth and its place in the Solar System. The education hub will explore climate change and other damage currently being inflicted on the planet Earth. The size of Earth in the scale model will focus visitors on the fragility of the planet.
