**Purposes:** &#x27;the advancement of education&#x27;,&#x27;the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended&#x27;

**What the charity does:** Support individuals who have english as a second language through meetings and discussion groups

**Objectives:** The objects for which the group is established are: a) The promoting the use of English by Speakers of Other Languages in an inclusive community setting using both verbal and written activities. b) To promote the health and welfare of members by providing opportunities to participate in social and educational activities which will be beneficial to their health and wellbeing. c) To promote inclusion and friendship by providing opportunities for social interaction with others in the group and within the wider community. d) To provide learning opportunities for adults to support integration and personal development and possible employability within the community. e) To promote the activities and objectives of the group to the wider community f) To do all other things as will properly attain the above purposes.  3. Powers  In furtherance of these objectives, the group may:  a) employ and pay persons to supervise, organize and carry out the work of the  group where deemed appropriate. b) provide to individuals opportunities for the exchange of views and experiences between the group and its members. c) engage and pay fees to professional and technical advisers/consultants to  assist in the work of the group where deemed appropriate. d) take out membership of such groups which may be considered to be in the interests of and compatible with the objects of the group. e) cause to be prepared and printed or otherwise reproduced and circulated, either free of charge or for payment, such papers, books, periodicals, pamphlets or  other documents or films or recorded tapes (whether audio or visual or both) as shall further the objects. f) purchase, take on lease or exchange, hire or otherwise acquire property and  any rights and privileges considered appropriate for the promotion of the  objects and construct, maintain and alter any buildings considered  appropriate for the work of the group. g) make regulations for the management of any property which may be so  acquired. h) enter into any contract or other arrangement with any local authority,  educational establishment, or central government or other body in relation to  the provision of services or facilities which advance the objectives of the  group. I) sell, feu, let, hire, license, give in exchange and otherwise dispose of all or  any part of the undertaking, property and rights of the group. j) raise funds for the objects and accept gifts on such terms and on such security as shall be deemed to be appropriate. k) raise funds and invite and receive contributions from any persons or persons  by way of subscription or otherwise including group members. l) do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the  attainment of the objects.  4. Membership  Membership of The International Conversation Caf� will be open to all who have an interest in the objects of the group and who reside in Lanarkshire and adjacent areas.  Members over the age of 16 are entitled to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting or any other meetings where members are in attendance.   This will be regardless of Race, Colour, Nationality, ethnic or national origins,  Religions, Sex, Sexuality, Marital Status, Disabilities, or disadvantaged by  conditions or requirements, which cannot be shown to be justifiable.
