## **Objectives and activities** 

Purpose of this organization is: 

Outcome 1: The Rais-Shamsun foundation is an non-political non-profit organization established in 2020. Currently located in an small village of Shankhola union ,Sylhet, Northeastern part of Bangladesh, it has established institutions offering holistic support to the orphans through carrying out all the responsibilities for their upbringing under a sponsorship program which covers quality food, medical care and education. 

Outcome 2: Rais-shamsun Foundation plans to expand its’ operation to Scottish Bangladeshi Communities throughout in Scotland. It aims for running safe and comfortable places to provide social and cultural education to the young generations (under 16) from the Scottish Bangladeshi community by organizing Bengali Language classes, educational excursions and culturally appropriate recreational activities. 

## **Objectives** 

4.1: Sponsorship program for the orphans to ensure their overall welfare to improve the living condition of the orphans and under-privileged children in Bangladesh. This will help them reliving of their poor condition, access advanced education in a protected environment. 

4.2: Provide a safe and comfortable place for the Scottish-Bangladeshi youth to promote social cohesion and cross-cultural awareness between the Scottish Bangladeshi community and other communities across Scotland by organizing culturally appropriate events and recreational activities raising awareness on Bangla culture. 

4.3 Create and coordinate funding streams for the underprivileged and financially insolvent communities in Bangladesh to alleviate their poverty and improve their well-being.

## Achievements 

- Established charitable programmes in 2024-25 which have provided educational support / health / food relief / shelter to **among 250+** beneficiaries. 

- Distributed school supplies / uniforms / scholarships to students in underprivileged communities. 

- Provided medical aid or health check ups and organized health camps. 

- Responded to emergencies (natural disasters / floods etc.) by distributing food / clean water / temporary shelter. 

- Created sustainable programmes, e.g. vocational training, skills development, livelihood support, that help beneficiaries to become selfsufficient.

- Scale up health interventions: more medical camps, maternal & child health, preventive care. 

- Strengthen vocational training / skills programmes so beneficiaries can gain jobs / income. 

- Launch new programmes in underserved or remote regions. 

- Improve organizational capacity: better monitoring & evaluation systems, staff / volunteer training, stronger financial controls, more transparency. 

- Increase fundraising efforts: more donor outreach, grants, partnerships, possibly setting up sustainable income generation. 

- Build partnerships with other charities / government / international agencies to leverage resources. 

- Emphasise sustainability: ensure programmes are community-led where possible, so beneficiaries can continue even with reduced external support.
