**What the charity does:** As previously stated the aim is to have a life size statue erected in Banchory Aberdeenshire his birthplace in 1843.  He is known world wide as the Strathspey King having composed approximately 700 tunes during his lifetime

**Objectives:** 2	Aims and Objects:  To ensure that the heritage, history and musical legacy of James Scott Skinner (1843-1927) is preserved in his home town of Banchory and on Royal Deeside. to commemorate his musical influence, life and work at home and abroad. and to ensure that his legacy is remembered by future generations.    James Scott Skinner (known as the Strathspey King) was a renowned violinist, fiddler and composer. He is one of the most influential fiddlers in Scottish traditional music.
