STRUCTURE AND MANAGEMENT Constitution The Charity is a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). It is governed by its constitution which was adopted and granted charitable status by OSCR on 4th July 2023. Appointment of Trustees The committee, which normally meets once a month, are the charity's trustees and other appointed Committee members. Membership of the committee is open to all members of the Oxford Sandy and Black Pig Group. Trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting and under the constitution, there must be a minimum of three but shall not be subject to any maximum. The trustees may co-opt further trustees if they consider it would be in the interests of the Charity to do so. Management The trustees are responsible for the strategic direction and governance of the Charity, as well as achieving its aims and objectives OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Charitsble purposes To advance the education of the public on the preservation and conservation of the rare breed Oxford Sandy and Black Pig , in particular but not exclusively, through the provision of workshops and events to assist with furthering the knowledge of the conservation of the Oxford Sandy and Black Pig. ACTIVITIES, ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE The Oxford Sandy and Black Pig Group (OSBPG), have continued to grow and support our increasing number of followers and supporters . These achievements can be seen across our social media pages with our charity efforts, education programs, and fundraising initiatives. We have a dedicated Committee who meet every month and work very hard behind the scenes to engage and educate our supporters. The key highlights for the year: Education and Training This year, OSBPG has continued to lead in education, providing members and the wider farming community with clear, practical guidan on breed management, welfare and sustainability. Our pig training courses have continued to be exceptionally well reived. Designed for both new and experienced keepers, these courses provide interactive, practical training and expert guidance, helping participants gain confidence in pig management and welfare. 21Page
Events and Public Engagement OSBPG has actively participated in a wide range of events this year, promoting our charity and breed to the public, fellow breeders and the wider agricultural community. These events have provided opportunities to showcase the Oxford Sandy and Black pig, raise awareness of rare breeds and promote sustainable and ethical farming practices. Additionally, we have been working closely with the pig industry on critical issues such as African Swine Fever (ASF) and other disease control measures. Our focus has been on improving communication and guidance for both pig keepers and the general public, helping ensure that biosecurity practices are clearly understood and widely adopted. These initiatives play a crucial role in protecting pig health, conserving rare breeds and supporting informed, responsible farming across the UK. Pork Development Team The launch of our new Pork Development Team is a strategic extension of the Charity. By supporting independent producers, tracking production data, and promoting OSB Pork products, the team has strengthened the market presence of our breed while demonstrating the quality, versatility, and value of Oxford Sandy and Black pork. This initiative has further reinforced the connection between breed conservation, producer support, and public engagement. OSB Register The charity has had many busy months this year, with Cloudlines (our Pig register) dissolving earlier in the year and with no other alternative register available, we developed a brand new register from scratch to maintain continuity for the members who were already signed up to Cloudlines. After its launch some months ago, we continued to make improvements to the register so the charity can continue to grow and support its members. We would like to thanks Andrew O'shea for all his hard work in setting up this valuable resource. Social Media Our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube Channels continue to attract a huge number of followers and enthusiastic engagement with our podcasts , the OSB Stock List , Pig Tales Newsletter and online competitions. Our website sales and OSB products are very popular and contribute greatly to our funds. Genetic Support Allowance(GSA) We continue with the good work in ensuring the continued diversity and strength of the Oxford Sandy and Black pig breed. We supported pig breeders with £1000 of GSA. FINANCIAL REVIEW Our main sourceof funding continuesto be merchandise sales, fees for the our own breed register and charitable donations. In Summary, all Receipts and Payments are unrestricted with total receipts being £8,119 (2024: £11,860). Payments for the year were £8,971 (2024: £17,215) , mainly running costs for the website and printing costs. Overall, there is a small deficit of £852 (2024: £5,355) At the end of this period, the Charity has Unrestricted bank balances of £3,169 (2024: £4,021) which will support the running of the Charity in the forthcoming years. 31Page
Reserves Policy To date the Charity has not had a Reserves Policy as such, keeping a nominal figure in reserve in the Savings account to cover any unexpected expenditure. However, the Trustees will be reviewing the need for a formal Reserves Policy. PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS Looking ahead, we are excited for what the future holds and are committed to continuing our mission to support the Oxford Sandy and Black pig breed, alongside the farmers, breeders, and enthusiasts who make our community so special. Notes to the Accounts - For the Year Ended 30 September 2025 Basis of Accounting These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). Nature and purpose of funds Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. The trustees maintain a single Unrestricted Bank account for the day-to-day running of the Society and another Unrestricted Bank account as a Savings account. Both are held with Lloyds Bank. Trustee Remuneration No remuneration or expenses were paid to any charity trustee or person connected to a trustee during this period. 71Page
Independent Examiner's Report on the Accounts of The Oxford Sandy and Black Pig Group (SC052662) For the year to 30th September 2025 Respective Responsibilities of Trustees & Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Independent Examinerfs Statement My examination is carried out in accordan with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees conmIng any such matters. The ProdureS undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. Independent Examiner's Ststement In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
