'the advancement of education','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'

Lingo Flamingo uses the power of foreign languages to support older adults in care homes and day centres. Research shows that language learning can increase our cognitive health, we therefore deliver inclusive and accessible foreign language classes in care homes and community centres to increase the cognitive health, well-being and self-esteem of our students. Since launching in 2015, we have provided over 8,000 classes to over 6,000 older adults across Scotland. In addition to our outreach work in care homes and day centres, we provide community language classes to increase the knowledge and cultural awareness within our local community. The ‘nest’ was launched in 2018 and since then we have offered classes to over 5,000 local residents. For more information, please view our social impact report which is attached to our annual accounts.
