Objectives and activities

Blackout Productions was set up to allow people who are interested in theatre arts to come together to help produce a variety of events to perform to audience members.

Our main activities are performing concerts, plays and musicals. This varies from year to year and will involve a different number of people depending on that the production is.

We have open auditions to allow anyone interested in taking part the opportunity to be involved in the audition process. We also have a group of volunteers who help to produce and stage the event.

Our events are performed for the local community to help promote theatre arts within Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Structure, governance and management

Type of governing document

Blackout Productions is governed by a constitution.

Trustee recruitment and appointment

There has been no recruitment for new trustees for this year. All trustees are volunteers and have agreed to continue to support the charity.

Achievements and performance

This year Blackout Productions performed two fundraising concerts:

In May we performed our Schwartz Sunday Cabaret.

In December we performed our Christmas Cabaret at Dirty Martini in Le Monde.

Both concerts were are great success and very

much enjoyed by audiences and performers.

. We also performed the musical Come from Away in October 2025 Although this made a loss it was a great success for the company and thoroughly enjoyed by audiences.

Any profits made from the concerts go towards the costs of putting on the Musical in 2025 and our next productions in 2026.
