The Trustees present their annual rewt and financial Statements of the charity for the period
ended 30 June 2024. The charity was inCoTPC￿Ied on 27 June 2023 therefore the accounts
reflect the period from 27 June 2023 to 30 June 2024.

Governing Documont
The House of Hope (Scotland) is a registered scotb.sh charity and a Scottish Charitable
Incorporated Organisation ISCIO). The ¢hanty is govemed by rts constitution.
Trustee Racyuitmant and Appointment
The ¢harity is Committed to ensuring that its board oftNstees refiects a diverse range of skills,
experiences. and perspectNes to effectively oversee and guide the charity's work. The
recruitment and appointment of trustees are conducted in a transparent and fair manner, in
a¢¢ordan¢e with the ¢harity'$ wveming documents and legal obligation$.
When vacancies arise, the charty atherti$e$ tr￿tee positions through a variety of Channels,
ensuring wide accessibility to potential candidates. An initial skills audit is I￿ndUcted lo identify
areas where additional expertise is needed. Prospective trustees undergo a thorough
recruitment process, including interviews and referen￿ checkn. to assess their suitabilrty and
alignment with the charity's mission and values.

operations, financial $latu$. and goveman¢e pra¢tsce$. Twslee$ a￿ also en￿uraged lo
participate in ongoing training lo ensure they remain we1l-infc￿1ed and capable of fulfilling
their duties.
The board oftrustees periodically reviews its composibon and effectiveness, ensuring that the
charty is well-posrtj'oned to meet the evolving needs of its beneficiaries and stakeholders.
ObJ"ectives and Aclivili0S
The House of Hope (Scotland). founded by ￿ following Lisa's 2017
diagnosis with secondary breast cancer. has made significant strides in ils inaugural year. The
charty'$ mission is to establish Scotland's first dedicated Ixeast eaneer support and wellbeing
centre, providing holistic therawes and services to complement medical treatments.

Achievements and Perforniance
In our first year we have-
FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES:
Launched the "Buy A Bnck Of Hope" eampaign. raising over £23.OtKI to support the centre's
development.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
Organised a number of events to raise awareness and fvnds.
CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS:
Secured funding from organisations such as Estee LaLMler Companies UK and Ireland.
enhancing our ¢apaaty to offer seryices.
PROPERTY SEARCH:
Spent most of the year searching for the ideal property from which to launch The House of
Hope. Towards the end of finanual year. the trustees were delighted to come to an
agreement to take over a long temi lease of 49) Gorgie Road, Edinburgh to become The
House of Hope.
Financial Review
The chanty received inL¥me of£46,106 and incurred expenditure of£15,023 during the period,
resulting in a surplus of £32,258. The Trustees feel there is no requirement for a reserves
policy at this stage given the charity 1$ at the early stages of rts development.

(SCOTLAND) FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 30 JUNE 2024
I report on the ￿)unts of the charty forthe period ended 30June 2024. which are set out on
page S to 7.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are resFonsible for the preparation of the accounts in aC￿rdanCe wth
the terms of the Chariti'es and Trustee Investrnent {Scotland} 2005 Act and the Charitses
Accounts {Scotlandl Regulations 20￿.
The chanty trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(11 Id) of the Accounts
Regulations does not appty. It is my resFonsibility to examine the accounts as required under
section n 44111 Ic) ofthe Act and to statewhether particular matters have ￿rne to my attention.
Basis of indepgndenl exjminer's sljtomgnl
My examination is earried OLrt in actordanee V￿1h Regulation 11 of the Chartbes Accounts
(Scotlandl Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounts'ng records kept
by the charty and a comparison of the accounts presented wrth those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations
from the trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all
the evidence that would be required in an audrt and. cOnsequen￿y. I do not express an audit
opinion on the accounts.
