Summerhall Arts aims to support the fragile creative sector in Scotland through providing creative opportunities and professional development to the artists, both performative and visual, of Scotland through a diverse programme of activities including commissions, workshops and space provision. As well as hosting a rich programme of New Writing within the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.

Objectives: The purpose of the SCIO is to advance the visual, performing, written and design arts by commissioning work for and providing financial and other support to creative practitioners, arts organisations and individuals involved in the arts allowing them to reach wider audiences and to produce, and hence participate in, work that might not otherwise be produced
