Foreword
----- End of picture text -----
This year has been quite unique for me on a personal level. | made the decision to step back from my endometriosis work to prioritise my family and my own well-being. In December 2024, | welcomed my second miracle baby, this time a beautiful baby girl. We chose the noni her.
Celebrating Another Successful Year for Endo SOS
Last year proved to be another remarkable year for the charity, Endo SOS, starting with our fantastic event at the Scottish Parliament in April, hosted by our ambassador,a: evening featured delightful Scottish cuisine and beverages. Attendees engaged in heartfelt conversations, ending with a fun game put together byPo We had the opportunity to hear from experts in endometriosis, who provided insights into the condition, including the latest research and personal experiences.
We were fortunate to have advocacy stands from all the support groups across Scotland. My favourite part was mingling with fellow endometriosis warriors. A heartfelt thank you to all the MSPs and everyone who came to show their support.

Updates on Our Activities and Future Plans
This year, Endo SOS was selected as the charity of choice on the inform.gov website for those seeking support in Scotland. This marks a significant achievement for the charity. As we continue to expand our reach and impact,
we are incredibly grateful for this recognition. Being featured on inform.gov allows us to connect with a broader audience, providing crucial support and resources to those affected by endometriosis throughout Scotland. This opportunity will enable us to further our mission of raising awareness, advocating for better treatment options, and supporting individuals on their journey with endometriosis.
While I’ve been away, our team has dedicated their efforts to engaging and participating in events at various universities and hospitals across Scotland with our stall. We have also maintained pressure on SBC to provide free period products throughout the borough, and they have finally made these available at all SBC offices across the borders, along with the “Pick Up My Period” app. With Glen from Little Valley Website Designs, we have continued to enhance our website, offering Scottish-based information for individuals with endometriosis and their supporters.
Website Resources
Our website serves as a rich resource on various topics related to endometriosis, providing:
-
Webinars featuring medical experts
-
Information on support sessions for our members
-
Valuable guidance for coping pre- and post-diagnosis
4
Our webinars have remained successful, featuring specialists from diverse fields, including nutrition, research opportunities in Scotland, and pelvic floor health. All these resources are available free of charge on our website for anyone to access.
Volunteer Contributions
Our volunteers are the backbone of our charity. Last year, we secured funding that enabled our volunteers to complete the Endometriosis Wellness Practitioner Course, equipping them with certificates, new skills, and heightened confidence when addressing members' questions about endometriosis. This initiative has also contributed to an increase in our membership by fostering meaningful and thoughtful conversations for advice and support.
GoFundMe page now live
We are thrilled to announce that we have launched our very own JustGiving page, which is now open for donations to support the charity. All funds raised will be dedicated to the care and awareness of endometriosis in Scotland.
Mental Health Awareness
One of our volunteers and trustees developed an entire week focused on mental health, including a questionnaire on how endometriosis affects mental well-being. This initiative helped us understand our members’ needs and the personal, physical, and emotional impacts of the condition. Our volunteers, drawing from their own experiences, have proven to be valuable sources of information and relatable advice.
5
Through our volunteer efforts, we created a presentation detailing how endometriosis can impact a person's ability to work, get promoted, and maintain employment for Police Scotland. This has fostered a deeper understanding within the police force regarding the need for work-based practices concerning all female-related conditions, not just endometriosis.
Research and Insights
We developed the “Endo Thru the Ages” questionnaires to explore how endometriosis affects individuals throughout their lives. This insight has revealed changing attitudes over time, the condition's impact on various life aspects, and personal transformations.
This understanding enables us to better target our advice, identify suitable specialists to address member inquiries, and provide practical guidance for living with endometriosis.
Looking Ahead
As we look to the year ahead, our goal is to expand into other areas in the South of Scotland. We aim to connect with members we have yet to reach and support them on their journeys.
We will continue our outreach to local hospitals and more MSPs in the South of Scotland to raise our profile as a Scottish charity. Our commitment includes providing a blend of face-to-face and online support groups, along with educational webinars for both the endometriosis community and the medical field to bridge the gap between doctors and patients.
6
We are dedicated to delivering resources that empower individuals to lead happier and healthier lives. However, we recognize that addressing this issue requires a collective effort. It is crucial for medical professionals and the general public to gain a better understanding of endometriosis, which is why we will continue to raise awareness locally.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Endo SOS in reaching this milestone. Your contributions and encouragement have been invaluable, and we look forward to achieving even greater things together in the future. We will continue share our resources, such as informative webinars, support sessions, and community meetups, with even more people who need them. Our dedicated volunteers and team members are excited to embark on this new chapter, working tirelessly to ensure that no one feels alone in their battle with endometriosis.
We urgently need to find a new chairperson and treasurer; otherwise, the charity may cease operations, impacting our mission to support those affected by endometriosis in Scotland. We invite individuals passionate about advocacy to join our board of directors to help maintain our vital work. Your involvement can significantly impact many lives and shape our organisation's future. For more information, please contact us at enquiries@endosos.org.
Thank you for your continued support.

Future Plans
----- End of picture text -----
This section outlines how the charity aims to develop its services in the future and consolidate its organisation as a charity:
-
e Use our new website to engage with more members
-
e Continue to build and strengthen our new webchat service
-
e Develop our information provision
-
e Expanding our support network
-
e Increasing our campaigning and awareness work
Endometriosis is a long-term condition for which there is no known cure, however, the research field is becoming more established and new medical treatments could be on the horizon. We aim to continue providing a sustainable service to our members for as long as it is required.
We are a voluntary run organisation, and our people are our most valuable asset. A key priority for the next year is to recruit and train new volunteers and maintain a large pool of skilled volunteers to help ensure sustainability of Endo SoS and the services.
20
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and for ensuring that the financial statements comply with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
The main sources of Endo SoS funds are Donations, Fundraising activities and applications for grant funding. Last year, we were fortunate to receive a generous grant from the Scottish Government which enabled us to establish a brand new website and host an Endometriosis Awareness Event at the Scottish Parliament. These activities positioned us well to continue providing high quality information, peer-to-peer support and advocacy services for our members.
We run local fundraisers in March each year (Endometriosis week) and supporters also help us to raise funds throughout the year through sponsored activities. and generally promoting the work of Endo SoS.
As a very young charity that operates mainly online, we have few liabilities and limited resources. Our main asset is our people - our Members, Volunteers, Ambassadors, and Trustees. Irrespective of the scope of our current funding we aim to manage our charity’s finances responsibly, keeping expenditure within budget and ensuring effective financial controls to protect the charities monies.
21
At present, our reserves policy is to have at least three month’s operating costs in the form of unrestricted and available funding. We consider £1,500 in reserves to be sufficient to cover the general running costs (e.g. volunteer expenses, postage etc.) for Endo SoS as a charity that operates mainly online.
At the end of the financial year for this report we had a surplus of £3,415. We raised £2,993 in Donations, £2,100 in grant awards and £681 through our fundraising activities.
Our Receipts and Payments Accounts have been verified by an independent examiner and are summarised in the following pages.

| * Reimbursing genuine out-of-pocket expenses to volunteers is very important to Endo SoS. Re-imbursement of training deposit to Trustee was required to secure training place as opening of Charity's bank account took much longer than expected. *Endo SoS operates mainly online and does not own or rent any property or equipment. Trustees use their own laptops and phones for communication and to carry out administrative tasks. |

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees |
| consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations | |
| does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section | |

| Basis of independent examiner’s statement |
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the |
| charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes | |
| consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks | |
| explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken | |
| do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do | |
| not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. |
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention
