i Charity was set up on 27 April 2023. Its purposes are as follows:
The advancement of education in Scotland and throughout the world by:
4.1 sponsoring, promoting, mentoring, reviewing and undertaking academic research by both emerging undergraduate and graduate academics and by established academic professionals; and
4.2 publishing it online on its dedicated site: www.3sjournal.com, as well as in its peerreviewed, academic journal bearing the same name in various digital and print formats.

Student Strategy and Security Journal @ The University of Glasgow
Activities:
The past year was a difficult year for universities in the UK. We received no contribution from our partner, the University of Glasgow. Current editors funded our website hosting expenses. We had no advertising budget.
In November 2025 we began recruiting a new Board of Editors who will begin their activities in February 2026. We are in the process of devising a new fundraising campaign for 2026.
The Journal is currently in the process of finalising its next edition, due for publication in February, 2026.
Reason for not having raised any funds yet and projected start of fundraising activities:
Although we received no donations in 2025, we intend to continue devoting a significant time to fundraising starting in February 2026 and are confident to start raising funds by the end of the year. We have received some commitments already and are in the process of finalizing them at present.
As a volunteer, all student-run organisation, 3SJ is making a sustained effort to become better known in academic and business circles. We are aware this is a long-term process, especially with a rapidly rotating team. We intend to persevere and be successful in our fundraising efforts this year. Our charitable status is critical to us and a vital element in our campaign to continue publishing and mentoring young academics to take their first steps as published authors in a peerreviewed academic journal. We hope we will be given the opportunity to keep trying to achieve our goals in a very difficult current environment.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Please contact me if you require further information about 3SJ’s status and activities.
Best regards,
Editor-in-Chief, 3SJ; Trustee 3SJ (SCIO)
