Approved by the Trustee5 at an AGM held in the Boyd Room of the Fishermen's

Trustees Annual Re
ort 2024
This is the first AGM of Buckle Men's Shed.
With a bit of arm twisting, we formed a committee on the 9th March
2023. We were at that time meeting in the Fishermen's Hall, this was
funded through the Peoplehood Project, who granted us funding for
20 weeks, taking us up to 6th July. In May we had secured premises
The premises were in a state of disrepair and would need a
considerable amount of work and money to get them to an
operational stage. We managed to get Graws recycling to donate the
use of skips to get the rubbish cleared to give us a starting point and
find out the true condition of the premises.
We discovered the floor in the part we wanted to use as workshops
was totally rotten and we would need to replace the floor, as part of
the roof was asbestos, we would need to replace that and get rid of
all the asbestos from the site. (we couldn't get any insurance while
we still had asbestos) We did however manage to start meeting in
the better half of the building on 13th July.
First on the agenda was to create a kitchen area so we could get a
cup of tea. We then created a small meeting room. We got a door
donated by North East Windows for the end of the lane to High
Street. and we got them to replace our doors into the Shed and
replace the windows. We have now got a lowered suspended ceiling,
so hopef ully it will be easier to heat. Today we have had the asbestos
part of the roof removed ready for a new insulated profiled roof to
be fitted, hopef ully starting tomorrow. Around mid-April we are
getting a concrete floor laid so once that is completed, we should be
able to start on creating our workshops.

None of this would have been possible without funding, so I would
like to thank the following organisations for their funding and
donations:_
Fundin
Gordon & Ena Baxter Foundation, Beatrice Field, The national Lottery
Community Fund, The Robertson Trust. and the CO-OP.
Donations
Baxterfs Staff Fund, The BB'S, Boda Flowers, Buckle Community Shop,
Buckpool Golf Club Ladies Section, Buckle Welfare, Buckle Thistle,
Buckle Community Choir, House of Hair Fashion, Buckle High School,
Buckle Glitter Ball Group, Portessie Hall,& SFL Department Buckle
High School
donated our electric distribution box and cabling and
thanks to for the many donations of tools, also thanks to the
Portessie Hall for the donation of a Disabled Toilet.
I would like to thank
for all the help she has given us
during the year, with completing our funding applications. She has a
vast experience in this area, and without her help we may not of had
the approved applications that we had.
During last year wo 3SSiStod th@ SFI Department 3t Bucki@ High
School to erect a polytunnel and tidy up a couple of areas of school
grounds. We assisted Buckles Roots with dismantling a damaged
Gazebo, and we made a dog station for Wm Mair Funeral Directors.
This year we have been asked to make a mud kitchen for Millbank
Nursery, a wood store for Millbank primary. help with the erection of
a shed for the SFL department at Buckle High School and tidy up an
area at Seafield Hospital for Friends of Seafield.

We are having a coffee morning in the North Church Hall on Saturday
20th April at 9.30am so hoping for a good turn out there. There will
be a bottle stall, so any bottles would be greatly appreciated, please
let as many people know as you can.
I would like to thank the committee for their assistance, and all our
members who have put in a tremendous amount oftime and effort
into the work that we have done. We have come a long way in a
short space of time, and for me It has been a great honour and
privilage to have served as the first chairman of Buckle Men's Shed.
