The organisations objects are:- - The advancement of public participation in sport; - The advancement of education; - The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended: and - The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. Caddie School for Soldiers has been running since 2019 since it was formed by Don Snyder. Up to the point that Caddie School for Soldiers SCIO was established it was run remotely by a charity based in the USA but this entity was established to be the main entity in Scotland where the vast majority of activity takes place. The Boards of the two organisations work closely together. ## **ACCOUNTS** The results for the period are shown in the receipts and payments account and the financial statements. Apart from use of income in accordance with the constitution, there are no restricted funds. ## **RISK MANAGEMENT** The committee has examined the risks which the charity faces and has established systems to enable regular consideration so that the necessary steps may be taken to lessen these risks. ## **TRUSTEES** The trustees are appointed at Annual General Meetings. The board may at any time appoint any person to be a charity trustee by way of a resolution passed by majority vote at a board meeting. Each of the charity trustees shall hold office as a charity trustee for a period of tne years from the date of appointment but shall then, following the end of th ten-year term, they shall not be eligible to hold office as a charity trustee. No payments were made to Trustees. The recruitment and appointment of trustees is undertaken as required to ensure the charity has the skills and experience to meet its objectives. The trustees consider that cash reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity’s current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. ## **REVIEW OF THE YEAR TO JUNE 2025** The Caddie School for Soldiers is a voluntary, not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to helping veterans rebuild confidence, purpose, and connection after military service. Each year, we welcome men and women to St Andrews who carry experiences and burdens that most people will never fully see. Through community, structure, and the restorative power of golf, we offer them a path back to themselves. What we provide is simple but profound: a safe place to steady themselves, a supportive community that understands, and a meaningful skill that restores confidence and belonging. What happens here is more than training. It is connection. It is purpose. It is healing. The 12 months to 30 June 2025 marked one of the most significant and impactful periods in the School’s history. With the support of donors, volunteers, and partners, we delivered a programme that changed lives and strengthened the foundations of our organisation. During this period, 18 veterans completed the programme—our largest annual cohort to date—including our first female participants, an important milestone in the School’s growth and inclusivity. Veterans travelled from three countries—the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada—reflecting the international reach and reputation the School has built. Throughout their time in St Andrews, participants engaged in intensive caddie training, daily routines that rebuild confidence and structure, and shared experiences that foster trust, camaraderie, and emotional recovery. Time outdoors on the courses and landscapes of St Andrews played a vital role, offering a sense of calm, perspective, and renewal. Every year, we witness the same remarkable transformation: shoulders lift, confidence returns, friendships form, and hope begins to take root again. ‑ The long term impact of the programme is perhaps most clearly seen in the achievements of our alumni. Graduates from this year and previous years are now working at some of the most respected golf clubs in the world, including the Old Course in St Andrews, Royal Portrush, Royal Liverpool, the JCB Club, and Cabot Links. These successes reflect not only their talent and resilience but also the confidence, purpose, and professional grounding they gained during their time with us. Their achievements demonstrate the lasting value of the programme and the real opportunities it creates for veterans seeking a new direction. None of this would be possible without the generosity and belief of our supporters. As a voluntary, not‑for‑profit organisation, we rely entirely on charitable contributions to provide accommodation, meals, training, equipment, course access, travel support for international veterans, and the pastoral care that underpins the entire experience. Every donation directly supports a veteran in need of a place to heal, reconnect, and rediscover their strength. The first session of the year always feels special—the moment the School comes alive again, when we open our doors, our hearts, and our community to veterans who need a place to steady themselves and rediscover who they are. With continued support, we will expand our reach, strengthen alumni pathways, and build the long‑term sustainability needed to ensure that the Caddie School for Soldiers remains a place of hope, purpose, and renewal for years to come. The charity committee considers that the audit requirements of Regulation 10 (1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44 (1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of Independent Examiner’s Statement** My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the committee concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. ## **Independent Examiner’s Statement** In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:- 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44 (1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations , and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Basis of accounting** These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). ## **2. Nature and purpose of funds** Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. ## **3. Trustees remuneration and expenses** None of the trustees (or any persons connected with them) received any remuneration or benefits or expenses during the year. ## **4. Going concern** At the time of approving the financial statements, the trustees have reviewed the future funding activities of the charity. The trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. ## **4.
