Trustees Report-for the year ended 30 September 2024 Introduction This 15 the first Annual Report of the Elm Trust SCIO and is for the period April 2023 - September 2024 Objertlves and Activitles The Elm Trust SCIO was estsblished as a Single Tier SCIO in April 2023, with the following purposes: l. The advancement of religion and. in particular. supporting local gospel development planning which encourdges the exploration of Christian faith 2. The advancement of local community development 3. The relief of those in need by reason of age. ill-health, disability. financial hardship or other disadvantsge Achievements in 2023- 30 September 2024 Young People and Families Work at Chryston Parish Church The Elm Trust SCIO has been in discussion with Chry5ton Parish Church since October 2023, and which had plans to develop its missional work with Young People and Families in the l¢)cal community- Additionally, the Church was keen to employ a Young People and Families Worker. The Church described their projed a5 follows: The project is designed to meet identified local need5. They want to build an attractive. vibrdnt and innovative programme of activitie5 for local young people, their families and particulady to pmide Pathways to Faith. The hope is to nurture Christian faith within and beyond the church, and at the same time tackle poverty and/or social injustice, by connecting with people. Our new worker will be a bridge to a range of church and Community support services.. The Church followed upthese conversations. and the description of their plans, Wlth a 5 year Financial Plan. The proposals fully met with the main purwses of the Elm Trust. and led to the Elm Trust Board agreeing to commit a grant of £10,000 in 2024. and £7,500 per annum in the following 4years. This grant and future Elm Trnst commitments. in addition tothe Congregations commitmeftts. led to the new YPF Worker being employed in January 2024.

The Trust will be making sure that annual Gift Aid claims are made in the coming years. At present the Trust is heavily reliant on the financial commitments of a small number of individuals.
