Tru$tees' Annual Report for the year ended 30 September 2024 The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their report together with the financiaj statements for the above period. Governance and Management The Charity is a Scottish Chantable Incorporatsd Organisati¢)n (SCIO) with a ￿0-tier structure whereby the TNstees are elected from the wider membership. It was registered in

its current legal form on 17 March 2023 and opeiates under its 2022 Constitution. The charity was previously an unincorporated association, and the assets of that association were transferred to the SCIO on the 17 March 2023. Appointment of Trustees The charity Trustees constitute the Board of Trusrees, which normally meets monthly. Membership of the Board is open to all voting members of the Club (i.e. Full member aged 16 or over, a parenvcaier who has Full membership, a Life member, or an Honorary member) Trustees are elected at the annual general meeting which is normally held in November There must be a minimum of six and a maximutn of ten trustees Charilable purposes To facilitate and encourage community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilÉties for amateur seasports in all its forms. In furthering those purposes, the organisation will also seek to- promote safety on the water., provide training for the communty,. encourage and promote good sportsmanship on the water and onshore and promote respect and care for the marine environment. To always promote inclusion and equality within the whole community. Objectives and Activities Charitable objects To facilitate and encourage community participat'on in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for the sport of amateur boating in all its forms. In furthering those purposes, the organisation will also seek to promote safety when boating, provide boating training for Ihe community and visitors. encourage, and promote good sportsmanship in the sport of boating and promote respect and care of the marine environment. Activities Coastal rowing Throughout this year the charity has provided coastal rowing, with Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. having member led sessions that welcome beginners. Ou￿rth theses sessions members can take the boat out in teams in accordance wilh the club Rowing protocol. The charity has been active in recruiting further members into the club through rowing The members took part in local regattas, competing and supporting againsvwith other local clubs in the kyles area. The charity has run an event for local businesses and organisations to try rowing and had a race day where locals had a chance to come down and compete against others local organisations. The charity has continued a winter maintenance program on both Skrfts where members , repaired and repainted both skiffs while continuing rowing through the winter.

The charity has leant jigs and equipment to loca clubs so they too can build rowing skiffs Sailing The club facilities are used by the local school, and this allowed 12 pupils the opportunty to learn to sail. This project will be repeated next year. The charity organised youth sail training for a week during the summer holidays, this was well attended by 16 young people and the club then provided sailing supervision on Thursday nights after school for these and other members up i until the end of the season. The annual Round Bute Race was a volunteer run event that saw sailing boats competing in their different classes in a race around the Isle of Bute. CoasLql Swimming. The Charity runs sea swimming events weekly and continues to welcome new members. This activity promoted health and well being within the community. Kayaking Various social and community events are also held throughout the year. The members asked for a kayak store which was built under the clubhouse. Achievements and Perfomlance Membership remained high. Repair of the original rovwng skiff completed The club has worked hard and has completed or is in prooress in carrying out risk assessments, and safe procedures for all activities carried out on the water. Slipway cleaning has been taken over by club members with the purchase of a pressure washer and environmentally friendly slip cleaner. Planning has started on a club 5 year plan, starting with renewal of leases and identifying clubhouseldinghy park needs. Club socid activities are, once again, providing a social side to the club and generating income. Financial Review Per OSCR guidelines the figures quoted in this section refer to the full year, however 2023 was not a fijll year due to the date of incorporation (17 March 2023) and ending on 30 September 2023. For comparison purposes with the full year ending 30 Septetnber 2024, full year numbers are used from 2023 Membership numbers have stabilised in 2024 at about the same level as in 2023 (approximately 140). Subscription income received was £4540, reflecting the increase in adult members fees agreed at the AGM in October 2023. Junior fees iemained unchanged. The charity has Mo main sources of funding, Subscriptions and Clubhouse Bar Income. Subscription incorne is detailed above. Clubhouse Bar Income amounted to £5547.

Additionally the Club ran a number of events which Taised approximately £3359. Two abnormal events inflated the 2023 finances the OSCR policy of including the pie- incorporation club's bank balance as income and a large insurance claim Ihat was paid to us. Total Receipts amounted to £14,433 and Total Payments to £14040 resulting in a surplus for the year, of £383. Reserves Policy There is not a formal Trustees. Policy on the retention of ReseNes, however the balance of the general fund atthe year end was £10,547, well above the amount required to cover normal operating expenses. At the AGM in October 2023 there was a Similar bdance, and we proposed to spend down some of this amount on deferred maintenance items in our cluthouse. We have rK)t accomplished this in part because of the lack of a lease with the council for the land under the clubhouse. Plans for future period The Club maintains a facility on Argyll and BLrte Council land. The Club is nearing a year withDUt a lease on this land (it expired 14 July 2024). At thi5 time the council have agreed an approach for a 25 year lease at £1 per annum, however we await the details. The Trustees plan to continue to develop the rowing, swimming, kayaking and sailing activities, this will pursue the long-term development of the club and strengthen the links with the Community and local schools. The club aims also to maintain the Club boats. The charity will carry out a 5 year plan idennfying the needs of the members and seek funding lo modernise the clubhouse and boatyard area to make the facilities safe and accessible to all Approved by the Trustees on 27 June 2025 and signed on their behalf by.. Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of The Isle of Bute Seasports Club (SCIO) for the period 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2024

I report on the financial statements of the charity for the period 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2024.

Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 ("the 2005 Act") and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) (" the 2006 Regulations"). The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirements of Regulation 10(1)(d) of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 44(1)(c) of the 2005 Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of statement

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent Examiner’s Statement

In the course of my examination no matter has come to my attention:

• 1) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:

• To keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Regulations, and

• To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Regulations have not been met, or

• 2) To which in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
