STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Charity was registered on 13 Mar¢h, 2023 and wan operatsng a befriending service wth effect from 30 May,
2023.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the charity is to provide community contact vAth a0￿￿8, living in the Montrose aw. identsfied as in
need of befriending support on a fiexaible tsmescale relèvant to individual requirements, to SUPFQrt their social
activities without distinction of politscal. religious and other opinions. lo help imrpove their well being, and thus
empower them lo be parkn'cipants In their community according to each individuals. abilities and wishes.

Montrose Belriending Ser¥￿} aim is to reach out to the isolated and lonety in our community. We do this throu9h
face-to-face befriending and through group activit￿,
11 has been a busy year for us with numbers of belrienders and befriendees 9rowing to 45. A new intake of
volunteers was held in Ociober when 14 volunteers completed the training. In short rn0￿ isolated people wrthin
our community are being reached.
Along with our normal on6 to one befn"ending we have a Tea & Toast 9Toup at Provost Johnstone Housing
Complex which runs on altemate Mondays and students Irom Montfose Academy contsnue lo visit Fordmill Car8
Home ￿l¢e weekly.
We also run a Craft group. a coffee group and a games group. all of which are well attended. A summer picnic
was held at Borrowfield Community Centre and a Christmas party was held at the bowling club.
We also joined the National Trust where we got 10 membership cards that our befrienders can use to access
National Tfust properties free of charge.
Subsequent lo the Year end, we have entered into a 'Licence to Occupf agreement for premises at 32 Castle
Street, Montrose DD10 8AG. This buildirsg will allow us lo operate most of our groups in-house and also give us
the ability lo allow olhef organisations to use our premises to help wth issues withi the local communty.

The charity's Tfuslees are responsible for the preparats.on of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the
Charitie5 and Trustee Investment {Scodandl Act 2005 and the Chanties Axounts {ScoUandlRegulations 2006 {as
amended).
The charity's Trustees consider that the audit requirement of RegUlat￿n 10111 {d} of the Accounts Regulations does
not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under seCtior￿4(1) Icl of the Act and to stale
whether particular matters have come lo my attent￿n.

My examination is carried out in accordance vrith Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts {ScoUandl Regulations
2006 las amendedl. An examination includes a review of the ac¢ounbng records kept by the charity and
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. 11 also includes consideration of any unusual items or
di￿10$ureS in the Accounts. and seeks explanabons from the trustees conr£ming any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that woukl te required in an audrt, and consequently. I do
not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

In the course of my examination, no matter has wme to my attention
which gives me reasonable cause lo believe that in any malerial ￿SpeCt the fequirements..

Accounts Regulations, and
