Objectives and activities
Thc advancement of public participation in sport, and
The organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the
conditions of life for the persons for whom the activities are primarily
intended.
Withoutprejudiceto thegenerality of the Puryoses, the Charity will seek to
prioritise the following activities:
To promote and encourage intcrest in Association Football in Hawick and
surrounding areas under the auspices of the Border Amateur League,
To field an amateurfootball team in the Border Amateur (A) League, known
as Hawick United.
To promote the development of amateur footballers in Hawick and
surrounding areas.

Structure, governance and management
Type of governing document: Constitution (March 2021)
The structure of the Charity consists of the Members, who have important
powers under this constitution, and the Committee, being a group of
individuals (including a Chairman, a Treasurer, a Secretary and such other
office-bearers) elected and nominated by the Memb¢rs to manage the
administration of the Charity on a day-to-day basis.
In the constitution, a reference to a Trustee includes a reference to each
member of the Committee, and they are considered thecharity trustees forthe
puryoses ofthe Act. Rules aroundmembership of the Charity, the operation
of the Committee, election of Trustees and nomination of office-bearers are
set out below.
A person shallautomatically cease to be an oifice bearer if he or she ceases to
be a Trustee.
Trustee recruitment and appointment
Trustees are appointed annually at the Annual Genral Meeting.
The business at an Annual General Meeting shall include:
The consideration of the accounts of the Charity and related reports,
The appointment or re-appointment ofthe person responsible for examining
or auditing the Charity's accounts,
The retirement, appointment or re-appointment of Trustees.
The nomination ofa Trustee to act as Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary or other
office-bearer, should there be a vacancy.

Achievements and perfonnance
As stated, the main purpose of the charity is football related, but we
also do other things to help the local community. Our annual support
ofthe Salvation Army Food Bank Appeal was an enormous success.

Future plans
Our main focus this year is to upgrade our changing facilities,
summary below:
The proposal by Hawick United AFC is to revamp part of the existing
changing room building of the club (named The Derek Ramage
Pavilion) into a versatile club function suite. This transformation will
support both the club's operational needs as well as community
engagement initiatives. Some of the current changing rooms will
remain, with the conversion of some currently unused areas of the
building coinciding with the introduction of green energy to enhance
the changing facilities.

Project Background
Hawickunited AFC is an amateurfootball club which competes in the
'A' Division of the Border Amateur League. The club has had a great
season in 2023124 and are now in a position to be looking to grow the
club off the pitch. The club currently has connections with 3 of the
youth teams in the town and since the very beginning of the club we
have been committed to playing an integral role in fostering local talent
and promoting football within the community. The current changing
room facility is underutilised and offers a unique opportunity for
redevelopment that can benefit not only the club but also the wider
community.
