Structure, governance and management
Type of governing document The Shettleston Baptist Church SCIO is established by constitution. The church is a Scottish charity (SC052280) and is recognised by the Inland Revenue (ST05306). The Deacons are nominated by the church members. The church is affiliated to the Baptist Union of Scotland, a company limited by guarantee.
Trustee recruitment and appointment The office bearers of Shettleston Baptist Church SCIO (Secretary & Treasurer) will act as Trustees for all intents and purposes. The trustees will be appointed by Deacon's court and confirmed by Shettleston Baptist Church SCIO members at a business meeting.
Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes The purpose of the charity (Shettleston Baptist Church SCIO) is to worship together in the Spirit and in Truth, build up the membership in faith, to Proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action. To maintain the spirit of Christian love and unity and to adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
Summary of the main activities The Charity ( Shettleston Baptist Church SCIO) normally meets for in relation to these objects worship and carries out various activities in pursuit of the charitable purposes ie worship services supporting Baptist Missionary Society, outreach (Saturday night rallies, and monthly praise Nights during the summer months) meeting with local churches for worship. The charity is also involved in sharing God’s Word.

Summary of the main achievements of The charity ( Shettleston Baptist Church SCIO) has a membership of the charity during the financial period _ twelve. When we meet for worship our doors are always open and members of the public have joined us in our time of worship. Financial review
Brief statement of the charity’s policy |§ The charity ( Shettleston Baptist Church SCIO) receives its funding from on reserves church members and visitors by way of weekly offerings and Gift Aid donations. The reserves (within the General Fund) are held for maintenance and upkeep of the church premises and also for funding purposes. The level of reserves equals the total of bank interest and the balance from the Income and Expenditure account and are reviewed each year when compiling the future budget. The Minister’s fund isa designated fund and is used to support the minister. It is funded through hall hire, and when low receives a top up from General fund. The Benevolent fund is also a designated fund used for benevolent purposes.
